ख्रिस्त में प्रिय भाइयो और बहनो,

हम सभी की इस धरती पर एक पहचान होती है। अस्तित्व के कारण हम मानव के रूप में पहचाने जाते हैं, और विश्वास के कारण हम ईसाई कहलाते हैं। लेकिन एक सच्चे ईसाई के रूप में हमारी वास्तविक पहचान इस बात में प्रकट होती है कि हम अपने जीवन में प्रभु येसु को किस रूप में पहचानते हैं।

आज के सुसमाचार में हम देखते हैं कि प्रभु येसु अपने शिष्यों से यह प्रश्न करते हैं कि वे उन्हें किस रूप में समझते हैं। जब उन्होंने पूछा, “मानव पुत्र कौन है, इस विषय में लोग क्या कहते हैं?” तो प्रत्येक शिष्य ने अलग-अलग उत्तर दिए। लेकिन जब येसु ने उनसे उनके व्यक्तिगत अनुभव के आधार पर पूछा कि, “तुम क्या कहते हो कि मैं कौन हूँ?” तो केवल पेत्रुस ही उत्तर दे सके। उन्होंने कहा, “आप मसीह हैं, आप जीवन्त ईश्वर के पुत्र हैं।” इस कथन ने येसु के प्रति पेत्रुस के गहरे विश्वास को प्रकट किया, जिन्हें उन्होंने निकटता से अनुसरण किया, ध्यानपूर्वक सुना और व्यक्तिगत रूप से अनुभव किया।

इसके बाद, येसु ने अपने दुःखभोग, मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान की घोषणा करके अपने शिष्यों को यह सिखाया कि सच्चे शिष्य बनने के लिए कठिनाइयों के मार्ग पर चलना आवश्यक है। केवल प्रभु में विश्वास की घोषणा करना ही सच्चा शिष्यत्व नहीं है, बल्कि उनकी शिक्षाओं का पालन करना, जीवन में आने वाली कठिनाइयों को स्वीकार करना और ईश्वर की इच्छा के प्रति विनम्रता से समर्पित रहना ही सच्चे शिष्यत्व की पहचान है।

पहले पाठ में, गणना की पुस्तक हमें मूसा और इस्राएलियों की कहानी बताती है, जहाँ मूसा ने चट्टान से पानी निकालने के लिए ईश्वर की आज्ञा का पालन किया। यह हमें सिखाता है कि ईश्वर की इच्छा का पालन करना और उस पर विश्वास करना हमें सच्चे शिष्य बनाता है, भले ही परिस्थितियाँ कठिन हों।

आज येसु हममें से प्रत्येक से यही प्रश्न पूछ रहे हैं, “तुम क्या कहते हो कि मैं कौन हूँ?” हमें स्वयं में गहराई से आत्मचिंतन करना चाहिए और इस प्रश्न का व्यक्तिगत उत्तर देना चाहिए ताकि हम प्रभु को अपने जीवन में कैसे अनुभव करते हैं, उनसे कितना प्रेम करते हैं और उनके मार्ग पर चलने के लिए कितने तैयार हैं, चाहे जीवन में कितनी भी कठिनाइयाँ क्यों न आएँ।

आज के पाठ हमें तीन महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षाएँ देते हैं:

1. प्रभु येसु को मसीह और जीवन्त ईश्वर के पुत्र के रूप में पहचानना हमारे विश्वास की नींव है।
2. सच्चा शिष्यत्व उनकी शिक्षाओं का पालन करने और कठिनाइयों को स्वीकार करने में है।
3. ईश्वर की इच्छा के प्रति विनम्रता और समर्पण हमें सच्चे शिष्य बनाता है।

आइए, हम प्रभु से प्रार्थना करें कि वे हमें पेत्रुस की तरह गहरे विश्वास और समर्पण के साथ उनके मार्ग पर चलने की कृपा प्रदान करें, ताकि हम सच्चे शिष्य बन सकें। आमेन।

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

We all have an identity on earth. By existence, we have the identity as human beings, and by faith, we have the identity as Christians. However, our true identity as Christians is manifested in the way we identify Christ in our lives.

In today’s gospel, we see Jesus questioning the disciples about how they understood Him. When He asked, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” each of them had varied answers. But when He asked about their personal experience of His identity, only Peter could reply, saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” This statement demonstrated Peter’s deep faith in Jesus, whom he followed closely, listened to attentively, and experienced personally.

After this, by announcing His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, Jesus teaches them the cost of discipleship—that to be a disciple, one must take the path of suffering. True discipleship does not lie only in proclaiming one’s faith in Christ but in walking the way of the Lord by following His teachings, accepting the struggles that come along the way, and humbly obeying God’s will.

In the first reading, the Book of Numbers tells us the story of Moses and the Israelites, where Moses obeyed God’s command to bring water from the rock. This teaches us that following God’s will and trusting in Him makes us true disciples, even in difficult circumstances.

Today, Jesus is asking each of us, “Who do you say that I am?” We need to truly introspect and personally answer this question to express how we experience Him in our daily lives, how much we love Him, and how ready we are to walk His way, even if life brings struggles and hardships.

Today’s readings teach us three important lessons:

1. Recognizing Jesus as the Christ and the Son of the living God is the foundation of our faith.
2. True discipleship lies in following His teachings and accepting life’s challenges.
3. Humility and surrender to God’s will make us true disciples.

Let us pray that God grants us, like Peter, the grace to follow His path with deep faith and commitment, so that we may become true disciples. Amen.
