“मुक्ति का ज्ञान”
अय्यूब 9:1-11, 14-16 लूका 9:57-62
आज हम कलीसिया के महान संत, पुरोहित और धर्मशास्त्री संत जेरोम का स्मरण करते हैं। उन्होंने पवित्र धर्मग्रंथ के अध्ययन और उसके प्रचार-प्रसार के द्वारा कलीसिया की महान सेवा की। परंपरा के अनुसार, अपने जीवन के एक गहरे आध्यात्मिक अनुभव के बाद उन्होंने अपना संपूर्ण जीवन पवित्र धर्मग्रंथ को समर्पित कर दिया। अथक परिश्रम के फलस्वरूप उन्होंने पवित्र बाइबल का लैटिन भाषा में अनुवाद किया, जिससे असंख्य लोगों को परमेश्वर के वचन तक पहुँचने का अवसर मिला।
पहले पाठ में हम अय्यूब को अपने मित्रों के साथ संवाद करते हुए देखते हैं। वह स्वीकार करता है कि मनुष्य अपनी सीमित बुद्धि से परमेश्वर को पूरी तरह नहीं समझ सकता। परमेश्वर महान, न्यायी और सर्वशक्तिमान हैं। उनके कार्य मानव की समझ से परे हैं और वही सबके न्यायाधीश हैं।
सुसमाचार में तीन व्यक्ति उत्साह के साथ यीशु का अनुसरण करना चाहते हैं। किन्तु प्रत्येक के सामने किसी न किसी प्रकार की आसक्ति या बाधा है। यीशु उन्हें सिखाते हैं कि उनका अनुसरण आधे मन से नहीं, बल्कि पूर्ण समर्पण और दृढ़ निश्चय के साथ करना चाहिए।
हमारे जीवन में भी परिवार, सुख-सुविधाएँ और सांसारिक लगाव कई बार परमेश्वर के बुलावे में बाधा बन जाते हैं। आज के दोनों पाठ हमें सिखाते हैं कि जब मसीह हमें बुलाते हैं, तब हमें बिना संकोच उनके पीछे चलने का निर्णय लेना चाहिए। संत जेरोम की तरह हम भी पवित्र धर्मग्रंथ से प्रेम करें और परमेश्वर की इच्छा को अपने जीवन में सर्वोच्च स्थान दें।
“Knowledge of Salvation”
Job 9:1-11, 14-16 Luke 9:57-62
Today we remember the great Saint Jerome, Priest and Doctor of the Church. His outstanding contribution to the Church was his lifelong dedication to Sacred Scripture. According to tradition, after a profound spiritual experience, he devoted himself entirely to studying God's Word. Through years of tireless labour, he translated the Holy Bible into Latin, making the Scriptures more accessible to the faithful.
In the first reading, Job speaks with humility before God. He recognizes that no human being can fully comprehend the greatness of God. The Lord is always just, infinitely wise, and beyond human understanding. He alone is the Creator, Sustainer, and Judge of all.
In the Gospel, three men express their desire to follow Jesus. Yet each of them struggles with attachments and personal concerns. Jesus teaches that discipleship demands total commitment and that nothing should take precedence over responding to God's call.
We too often become attached to family, comfort, and worldly security more than to God. Today's readings remind us that when Christ calls, we must respond wholeheartedly and without delay. Like Saint Jerome, may we love the Holy Scriptures, seek the knowledge of salvation, and faithfully follow the Lord wherever He leads us.
