“प्रेम सबसे महान गुण”
प्रेम सबसे महान गुण है। जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 13:13 कहता है, "अभी तो विश्वास, भरोसा और प्रेम-ये तीनों बने हुए हैं। किन्तु उनमें प्रेम ही सब से महान् हैं।"
यह प्रेम केवल एक भावना नहीं, बल्कि एक जीवन-मार्ग है — धैर्य, दया और निस्वार्थता से परिपूर्ण। जैसा कि 1 कुरिन्थियों 13:4-7 में लिखा है, "प्रेम धैर्यवान है, प्रेम दयालु है; यह ईर्ष्या नहीं करता, यह घमंड नहीं करता, यह अभिमानी नहीं है। यह दूसरों का अपमान नहीं करता, यह स्वार्थी नहीं है, यह आसानी से क्रोधित नहीं होता, यह गलतियों का लेखा नहीं रखता। प्रेम बुराई में आनन्द नहीं करता, परन्तु सत्य में आनन्द करता है। यह सदैव रक्षा करता है, सदैव विश्वास करता है, सदैव आशा रखता है, और सदैव धैर्य रखता है।"
मसीही विश्वासियों के रूप में हमें इसी प्रेम को संसार के सामने प्रकट करने के लिए बुलाया गया है। येसु ने योहन 13:35 में कहा, "यदि तुम एक दूसरे को प्यार करोगे, तो उसी से सब लोग जान जायेंगे कि तुम मेरे शिष्य हो।"
एक दूसरे के प्रति हमारा प्रेम ही संसार के लिए हमारे येसु के साथ सम्बन्ध का जीवित प्रमाण है। आइए, हम एक दूसरे से उसी प्रेम से प्रेम करें जैसा कि ईश्वर ने हमसे किया है। जैसा कि 1 योहन 4:19 में लिखा है, "हम प्यार करते हैं, क्योंकि उसने पहले हमें प्यार किया।"
ईश्वर का यह प्रेम हमारे जीवन और संबंधों की नींव बने, जो हमें धैर्यवान, दयालु और निस्वार्थ बनने की दिशा में मार्गदर्शन करे।
जब हम ईश्वर के प्रेम पर मनन करें, तो येसु के ये शब्द याद रखें, "इसलिए मैं तुम से कहता हूँ, इसके बहुत-से पाप क्षमा हो गये हैं, क्योंकि इसने बहुत प्यार दिखाया है। पर जिसे कम क्षमा किया गया, वह कम प्यार दिखाता है" (लूकस 7:47)। ईश्वर और अपने भाइयों-बहनों के प्रति हमारा प्रेम, उसी क्षमा और दया का प्रतिबिम्ब बने जो हमने उससे प्राप्त की है।
“Love: The Greatest Virtue”
Love is the greatest virtue of all. As 1 Corinthians 13:13 reminds us, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
This love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4–7, is not a mere feeling but a way of life — patient, kind, and selfless: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect this divine love in our lives. Jesus said in John 13:35, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Our love becomes the visible sign of our discipleship — a living testimony of our relationship with Him. Let us therefore strive to love as God loves us. As 1 John 4:19 declares, “We love because He first loved us.” May God’s love be the firm foundation of our relationships, teaching us to be patient, kind, and selfless in all things.
Finally, as we contemplate the depth of God’s mercy, let us remember the words of Jesus in Luke 7:47: “Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown.” May our love for God and for others reflect the forgiveness and grace we ourselves have received from Him.
