“ईश्वर की उद्धार-योजना में धन्य कुँवारी मरियम की सहभागिता”
आज कलीसिया अत्यन्त हर्ष के साथ धन्य कुँवारी मरियम का जन्मोत्सव मनाती है। यह केवल एक महान स्त्री के जन्म का स्मरण नहीं, बल्कि उस प्रभात का उत्सव है जिसके द्वारा उद्धार का सूर्य संसार में उदित होने वाला था। संत पौलुस रोमियों के नाम अपने पत्र में हमें आश्वस्त करते हैं कि "जो ईश्वर से प्रेम करते हैं, उनके लिए सब कुछ मिलकर भलाई ही उत्पन्न करता है।" यह सत्य मरियम के जीवन में पूर्ण रूप से साकार हुआ। वे किसी राजमहल में नहीं, बल्कि साधारण परिवार में जन्मीं; फिर भी ईश्वर ने अपनी अनन्त योजना को पूर्ण करने के लिए उन्हें चुन लिया। उनकी नम्रता, पवित्रता और अटूट विश्वास ने उन्हें ईश्वर की कृपा का पात्र बना दिया।
मत्ती का सुसमाचार येसु के वंशवृक्ष के माध्यम से यह प्रकट करता है कि ईश्वर अपनी उद्धार-योजना को इतिहास के बीच, साधारण और अपूर्ण मनुष्यों के द्वारा पूरा करते हैं। अब्राहम, दाऊद, राहाब और रूत जैसे अनेक व्यक्तियों के जीवन में मानवीय दुर्बलताएँ थीं, फिर भी ईश्वर ने उन्हें अपनी योजना का साधन बनाया। इसी वंशावली में धन्य कुँवारी मरियम का आगमन उद्धार-इतिहास का निर्णायक क्षण बन जाता है। उनके विश्वासपूर्ण "हाँ" के द्वारा वचन देहधारी हुआ और इम्मानुएल — "ईश्वर हमारे साथ" — मानव इतिहास में प्रवेश करता है।
धन्य कुँवारी मरियम का जन्म हमें यह विश्वास दिलाता है कि ईश्वर साधारण जीवनों में भी असाधारण कार्य कर सकते हैं। वे बाहरी प्रतिष्ठा नहीं, बल्कि विनम्र और आज्ञाकारी हृदय की खोज करते हैं। मरियम ने ईश्वर की योजना को पूरी तरह समझे बिना भी उस पर विश्वास किया और स्वयं को पूर्णतः उनकी इच्छा के अधीन कर दिया। इसी कारण वे समस्त विश्वासियों के लिए विश्वास, आशा और समर्पण की आदर्श बनी रहती हैं।
आज का यह पर्व हमें अपने जीवन पर भी मनन करने के लिए आमंत्रित करता है। क्या हमारा हृदय भी ईश्वर की इच्छा को स्वीकार करने के लिए उतना ही खुला है जितना मरियम का था? क्या हम भी परिस्थितियों की पूर्ण समझ के बिना विश्वासपूर्वक कह सकते हैं—"देखिए, मैं प्रभु की दासी हूँ; आपके वचन के अनुसार मेरे साथ ऐसा ही हो"? यदि हम मरियम के समान विनम्रता और विश्वास के साथ ईश्वर की योजना को स्वीकार करेंगे, तो हमारा जीवन भी उनके अनुग्रह का प्रभावशाली साधन बन जाएगा और हमारे द्वारा अनेक लोगों तक उद्धार की आशा पहुँचेगी।
“The Blessed Virgin Mary’s Participation in God’s Plan of Salvation”
Today the Church joyfully celebrates the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is not merely the remembrance of the birth of a great woman, but the feast of the dawn that heralded the rising of the Sun of Salvation in the world. St. Paul assures us in his letter to the Romans that “for those who love God, all things work together for good.” This truth was fully realized in Mary’s life. She was born not in a royal palace but in an ordinary family; yet God chose her to fulfill His eternal plan. Her humility, purity, and unwavering faith made her worthy of God’s grace.
Matthew’s Gospel, through the genealogy of Jesus, reveals that God accomplishes His plan of salvation through ordinary and imperfect human beings in the midst of history. Many figures like Abraham, David, Rahab, and Ruth had human weaknesses, yet God made them instruments of His plan. The coming of the Blessed Virgin Mary in this lineage becomes the decisive moment in the history of salvation. Through her faithful “Yes,” the Word became flesh and Emmanuel — “God with us” — entered human history.
The birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary assures us that God can do extraordinary things even in ordinary lives. He does not seek external status, but a humble and obedient heart. Mary trusted God’s plan even without fully understanding it and completely surrendered herself to His will. For this reason, she remains the ideal of faith, hope, and dedication for all believers.
Today’s feast invites us to reflect on our own lives. Is our heart as open to accepting God’s will as Mary’s was? Can we also say with faith, even without complete understanding of the circumstances — “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word”? If we accept God’s plan with the same humility and faith as Mary, our lives too will become powerful instruments of His grace, and through us, the hope of salvation will reach many.
