“प्रेम जो चंगा करता है और एकता स्थापित करता है”
संत पौलुस रोमियों के नाम अपने पत्र में मसीही जीवन का सार एक ही वाक्य में प्रस्तुत करते हैं: "आपस में प्रेम करने के अतिरिक्त किसी के ऋणी मत रहो।" वास्तव में समस्त संहिता का सार प्रेम है। जो अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्रेम करता है, वह ईश्वर की आज्ञाओं को पूर्ण करता है। सच्चा प्रेम किसी का अहित नहीं करता, बल्कि सदैव दूसरे की भलाई चाहता है। इसलिए प्रेम केवल एक भावना नहीं, बल्कि ईश्वर की इच्छा के अनुसार जीने का जीवन-मार्ग है।
मत्ती के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु हमें सिखाते हैं कि यदि कोई भाई हमारे विरुद्ध अपराध करे, तो हमारा पहला उत्तर प्रतिशोध नहीं, बल्कि मेल-मिलाप का प्रयास होना चाहिए। वे हमें धैर्य, विवेक और प्रेम से सत्य का सामना करना सिखाते हैं। पहले व्यक्तिगत रूप से समझाने का प्रयास किया जाए; आवश्यकता होने पर दो या तीन साक्षियों को साथ लिया जाए, और अन्त में कलीसिया की सहायता ली जाए। प्रभु का उद्देश्य किसी को दण्डित करना नहीं, बल्कि भटके हुए भाई को पुनः समुदाय की सहभागिता में लाना है। इसी संदर्भ में वे आश्वासन देते हैं: "जहाँ दो या तीन मेरे नाम पर एकत्र होते हैं, वहाँ मैं उनके बीच उपस्थित रहता हूँ।"
ये दोनों पाठ हमें बताते हैं कि प्रेम निष्क्रिय नहीं होता; वह सत्य बोलने का साहस भी रखता है और क्षमा करने की उदारता भी। आज का संसार शीघ्र निर्णय करता है, सम्बन्ध तोड़ देता है और विभाजन को बढ़ावा देता है; किन्तु मसीह हमें मेल-मिलाप, करुणा और धैर्य का मार्ग दिखाते हैं। प्रेम का अर्थ केवल अच्छा व्यवहार करना नहीं, बल्कि दूसरे के आध्यात्मिक कल्याण के लिए प्रयत्नशील रहना भी है।
आइए, हम ऐसा प्रेम विकसित करें जो घावों को भरता है, टूटे हुए सम्बन्धों को जोड़ता है और कलीसिया में एकता का निर्माण करता है। जब हमारा जीवन सत्य, क्षमा और करुणा से परिपूर्ण होगा, तब हम स्वयं मसीह के हृदय का प्रतिबिम्ब बनेंगे, जो दण्ड देने नहीं, बल्कि उद्धार करने आए थे।
“Love that Heals and Builds Unity”
In his letter to the Romans, St. Paul presents the essence of Christian life in one sentence: “Owe no one anything, except to love one another.” Indeed, the whole law finds its fulfillment in love. Whoever loves his neighbor as himself fulfills God’s commandments. True love does not harm anyone; rather, it always seeks the good of the other. Therefore, love is not merely an emotion, but a way of life lived according to God’s will.
In Matthew’s Gospel, the Lord Jesus teaches us that if a brother sins against us, our first response should not be revenge, but an effort toward reconciliation. He teaches us to confront the truth with patience, prudence, and love. First, we should try to speak to the person privately; if needed, take one or two witnesses along; and finally, seek the help of the Church. The Lord’s purpose is not to punish, but to bring the straying brother back into the communion of the community. In this context, He gives the assurance: “Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”
Both readings show us that love is not passive; it has the courage to speak the truth and the generosity to forgive. Today’s world quickly judges, breaks relationships, and promotes division; but Christ shows us the path of reconciliation, compassion, and patience. Love does not mean only good behavior, but also striving for the spiritual well-being of the other.
Let us cultivate a love that heals wounds, mends broken relationships, and builds unity in the Church. When our life is filled with truth, forgiveness, and compassion, we ourselves will become a reflection of the Heart of Christ, who came not to condemn but to save.
