“ईश्वर की प्रज्ञा और उसके बुलावे पर विश्वास”
संत पौलुस हमें सावधान करते हैं कि हम संसार की प्रज्ञा पर निर्भर न रहें। वे कहते हैं, "इस संसार की प्रज्ञा ईश्वर की दृष्टि में मूर्खता है।" सच्ची प्रज्ञा वही है जो हमें यह पहचानने की कृपा देती है कि हमारा जीवन, हमारी उपलब्धियाँ, यह संसार, और हमारा सम्पूर्ण अस्तित्व मसीह का है, और मसीह ईश्वर के हैं। इसलिए विश्वासी का जीवन आत्मनिर्भरता का नहीं, बल्कि ईश्वर पर पूर्ण भरोसे का जीवन है।
लूकस के सुसमाचार में हम इस सत्य को जीवंत रूप में देखते हैं। पेत्रुस और उसके साथियों ने पूरी रात अथक परिश्रम किया, किन्तु उन्हें कुछ भी प्राप्त नहीं हुआ। वे अनुभवी मछुआरे थे, फिर भी उनका सारा ज्ञान और अनुभव निष्फल सिद्ध हुआ। किन्तु जब प्रभु येसु ने उनसे कहा, "गहरे पानी में चलो और अपने जाल डालो," तब पेत्रुस ने विश्वास के साथ उत्तर दिया, "प्रभु, हमने सारी रात परिश्रम किया और कुछ भी नहीं पाया; फिर भी आपके वचन पर मैं जाल डालूँगा।" यही आज्ञाकारिता उस चमत्कारी पकड़ का कारण बनी, जिसने उनके जीवन की दिशा ही बदल दी।
दोनों पाठ हमें एक ही आध्यात्मिक सत्य का बोध कराते हैं कि ईश्वर की प्रज्ञा मनुष्य की समझ से कहीं ऊँची है। जब हम अपना अभिमान, अपनी सीमाएँ और अपनी असफलताएँ ईश्वर के हाथों में सौंप देते हैं, तब वही उन्हें अपने अनुग्रह का साधन बना देता है। चमत्कार देखकर पेत्रुस घमण्ड नहीं करता, बल्कि विनम्र होकर कहता है, "प्रभु, मुझसे दूर चले जाइए, क्योंकि मैं पापी मनुष्य हूँ।" यही नम्रता उसे मनुष्यों का मछुआरा बनने योग्य बनाती है।
आज ईश्वर हमें भी उसी विश्वास के लिए बुला रहे हैं। अनेक बार हमारा परिश्रम निष्फल प्रतीत होता है, हमारी योजनाएँ असफल हो जाती हैं और हमारा साहस टूटने लगता है। ऐसे क्षणों में हमें अपनी समझ पर नहीं, बल्कि प्रभु के वचन पर भरोसा करना है। यदि हम विश्वासपूर्वक उनके बुलावे का उत्तर देंगे, तो वे हमारे जीवन की रिक्तता को अपने अनुग्रह से भर देंगे और हमें अपने राज्य के प्रभावशाली साधन बना देंगे।
“God’s Wisdom and Trusting in His Call”
St. Paul warns us not to rely on the wisdom of the world. He declares, “The wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God.” True wisdom is that which enables us to recognize that our life, our achievements, this world, and our entire existence belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. Therefore, the life of a believer is not a life of self-reliance, but of complete trust in God.
In Luke’s Gospel, we see this truth come alive. Peter and his companions toiled all night without catching anything. They were experienced fishermen, yet all their knowledge and effort proved futile. But when the Lord Jesus told them, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets,” Peter responded in faith, “Master, we have worked hard all night and caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the nets.” This obedience became the reason for the miraculous catch that changed the direction of their lives.
Both readings teach us the same spiritual truth: God’s wisdom is far higher than human understanding. When we surrender our pride, our limitations, and our failures into God’s hands, He turns them into instruments of His grace. Upon seeing the miracle, Peter does not become proud but humbly says, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” This humility makes him worthy to become a fisher of men.
Today, God is calling us also to the same faith. Many times our efforts seem fruitless, our plans fail, and our courage begins to waver. In such moments, we must not depend on our own understanding but trust in the word of the Lord. If we respond to His call with faith, He will fill the emptiness of our lives with His grace and make us powerful instruments of His Kingdom.
