“ईश्वर से प्रेम और पड़ोसी से प्रेम”
मत्ती 22:34-40
आज के वचन में प्रभु हमें ईश्वरीय प्रेम और पड़ोसी-प्रेम पर चिंतन करने के लिए आमंत्रित करता है। हम पुरानी व्यवस्था में पढ़ते हैं कि ईश्वर ने मूसा के द्वारा इस्राएलियों को दस आज्ञाएँ दी थीं। लेकिन आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु इन दस आज्ञाओं को दो मुख्य आज्ञाओं में बाँटते हैं।
पहली आज्ञा है, अपने पूरे हृदय, अपनी पूरी आत्मा और अपनी पूरी बुद्धि से ईश्वर से प्रेम करो।
दूसरी आज्ञा है, अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्रेम करो।
यदि हम इन दो आज्ञाओं पर गहराई से मनन करें, तो हमें पता चलता है कि इन्हीं दो आज्ञाओं पर बाकी सारी आज्ञाएँ निर्भर हैं। जब हम इन आज्ञाओं पर चलेंगे, तो निश्चित रूप से हम अन्य सभी आज्ञाओं का पालन कर पाएँगे।
आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु हमें सिखाते हैं कि ये दोनों आज्ञाएँ प्रेम पर आधारित हैं, और प्रेम ही हमारे ख्रीस्तीय जीवन की नींव है। क्योंकि प्रभु ने स्वयं इस संसार से प्रेम किया और आज वे हमें भी दूसरों से प्रेम करना सिखाते हैं। इसलिए, हमें अपने जीवन में ईश्वर को प्राथमिकता और प्रेम देना चाहिए, और अपने पड़ोसियों से अपने समान प्रेम करना चाहिए।
“Love of God and Love of Neighbour”
Matthew 22:34-40
Today’s Word invites us to reflect on the love of God and the love of neighbour. In the Old Testament, we read that God gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments through Moses. But in today’s Holy Gospel, Lord Jesus sums up those ten commandments into two main commandments.
The first commandment is: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
The second commandment is: “Love your neighbour as yourself.”
If we meditate deeply on these two commandments, we realize that all the other commandments depend on them. When we follow these two commandments faithfully, we naturally fulfill all the others.
In today’s Gospel, the Lord teaches us that these two commandments are based on love, and love is the foundation of our Christian life. For the Lord Jesus Himself loved this world deeply and showed us the way of love. Therefore, in our lives, we must give God the first place and love Him above all things, and love our neighbours as ourselves.
