प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज हम आगकाल का पहला रविवार मना रहे हैं। यह समय हमें प्रभु के आगमन की तैयारी करने और उसकी प्रतीक्षा में जागरूक बने रहने का अवसर देता है। इसायाह का दर्शन हमें यह संदेश देता है कि सभी राष्ट्र प्रभु के घर की ओर आएँगे और उसकी राहों पर चलेंगे। यह हमें बुलाता है कि हम अपने जीवन में शांति, प्रेम और न्याय को स्थान दें, ताकि हम भी दूसरों को प्रभु की ज्योति की ओर आकर्षित कर सकें। संत पौलुस हमें जागने और अंधकार के कार्यों को त्यागने का निमंत्रण देते हैं। इसका अर्थ है कि हमें अपने पुराने स्वभाव, आलस्य और स्वार्थ से बाहर निकलकर प्रभु येसु मसीह को धारण करना है। जब हम प्रार्थना, सेवा और करुणा का जीवन जीते हैं, तब हम प्रकाश में चलते हैं और प्रभु के योग्य बनते हैं।

आज का सुसमाचार हमें विशेष रूप से सावधान और सतर्क रहने की शिक्षा देता है। नूह के समय की तरह लोग अपनी दिनचर्या और मनोरंजन में उलझे रहे और अचानक विपत्ति आ गई। इसी प्रकार प्रभु का आगमन भी अचानक होगा। इसलिए हमें हर क्षण तैयार रहना है। तैयार रहने का अर्थ केवल भविष्य की प्रतीक्षा करना नहीं, बल्कि आज ही अपने हृदय को प्रभु के लिए खोलना है। जब हम अपने परिवार में धैर्य और प्रेम, समाज में सेवा और दया, और प्रार्थना में विश्वास और समर्पण को बढ़ाते हैं, तब हम प्रभु के आगमन की सच्ची तैयारी करते हैं।

My dear brothers and sisters, today we begin the season of Advent with the First Sunday, a time of joyful waiting and spiritual preparation for the coming of the Lord. The prophet Isaiah shows us a vision of hope where all nations will walk in the light of God and seek His ways. This vision reminds us that our lives, too, must reflect God’s peace, justice, and love so that we may lead others towards His presence. St. Paul urges us to wake up from our spiritual sleep and to cast aside the works of darkness. This means letting go of selfishness, sin, and carelessness, and instead clothing ourselves with Christ. When we live in prayer, compassion, and service, we shine as children of the light.

In the Gospel, Jesus calls us to remain vigilant and watchful. Just as in the days of Noah people were distracted with daily pleasures and were caught unprepared, so too will the coming of the Son of Man be sudden and unexpected. Therefore, readiness is not simply waiting for a future day, but welcoming Christ into our lives here and now. Every act of love, every prayer of faith, and every deed of service prepares a place for Him in our hearts. As we enter this holy season, let us resolve to live with watchfulness, prayerfulness, and generosity, so that when the Lord comes, He may find us ready and worthy to share in His eternal joy.
