“संत लियो महान : विश्वास और कृतज्ञता”
तीतुस 2:1-8,11-14 | लूकस 17:7-10
येसु ख्रीस्त में प्यारे भाइयों एवं बहनों, आज माता कलीसिया संत लियो महान (St. Leo the Great) का पर्व मना रही है। वे पाँचवीं शताब्दी के एक महान पोप, धर्मशास्त्री और कलीसिया के डॉक्टर थे। उनका जन्म लगभग 400 ईस्वी में इटली में हुआ। वे सन् 440 से 461 ईस्वी तक रोम के पोप रहे।
उनके समय में कलीसिया कई धार्मिक विवादों और बाहरी आक्रमणों का सामना कर रही थी। संत लियो ने अपने उपदेशों और पत्रों के माध्यम से सच्चे विश्वास की दृढ़ता से रक्षा की। 451 ईस्वी में चाल्केदोन की महासभा में उनका प्रसिद्ध पत्र “टोम ऑफ लियो” पढ़ा गया, जिसमें यह स्पष्ट किया गया कि येसु पूर्ण रूप से ईश्वर और पूर्ण रूप से मनुष्य हैं।
उन्होंने हूणों के राजा अटिला से मिलकर रोम नगर को विनाश से बचाया। संत लियो को कलीसिया का “महान” और “कलीसिया का डॉक्टर” कहा जाता है। उनका पर्व 10 नवंबर को मनाया जाता है।
प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज का वचन हमें दो महत्वपूर्ण बातें सिखाता है — सही जीवन और कृतज्ञ हृदय। संत पौलुस तीतुस को समझाते हैं कि हमारा जीवन संयमी, पवित्र और भलाई से भरा होना चाहिए। ईश्वर की कृपा हमें अधर्म से दूर रहकर धार्मिक और पवित्र जीवन जीने की शिक्षा देती है।
सुसमाचार में प्रभु हमें सेवकों के दृष्टांत के द्वारा सिखाते हैं कि हमें बिना अपेक्षा के सेवा करनी चाहिए। यह हमें याद दिलाता है कि हम ईश्वर के सेवक हैं और हमें नम्रता के साथ अपना कर्तव्य पूरा करना है।
“St. Leo the Great: Faith and Gratitude”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Today Mother Church celebrates the feast of St. Pope Leo I (St. Leo the Great), a great Pope, theologian, and Doctor of the Church in the fifth century. He was born around 400 A.D. in Italy. He served as Pope of Rome from 440 to 461 A.D.
During his time, the Church faced many doctrinal controversies and external invasions. Through his sermons and letters, Saint Leo firmly defended the true faith. In 451 A.D., at the Council of Chalcedon, his famous letter, the “Tome of Leo,” was read. In it, he clearly explained that Jesus is fully God and fully man.
He also met Attila the Hun and saved the city of Rome from destruction. Saint Leo is called “the Great” and a “Doctor of the Church.” His feast is celebrated on November 10.
Dear brothers and sisters, today’s Word teaches us two important things: right living and a grateful heart. Saint Paul explains to Titus that our lives should be self-controlled, holy, and filled with goodness. The grace of God has appeared to all, teaching us to reject ungodliness and to live righteous and holy lives.
In the Gospel, the Lord teaches us through the parable of the servants that we should serve without expecting reward. It reminds us that we are servants of God and must fulfill our duty with humility.
