“संत लियोनार्ड : सेवा और त्याग का उदाहरण”

ख्रीस्त में प्यारे भाइयों एवं बहनों, आज माता कलीसिया संत लियोनार्ड का पर्व मना रही है। वे छठी शताब्दी के संत थे। उनका जन्म लगभग 496 ई. में फ्रांस में हुआ था। उनके पिता राजा क्लोविस प्रथम के दरबार में उच्च पद पर नियुक्त थे। परन्तु उन्होंने सांसारिक सम्मान और वैभव को त्याग दिया।
संत रेमी के पथ-प्रदर्शन में बपतिस्मा लिया और धार्मिक जीवन अपनाया। बाद में एकांत में रहकर प्रार्थना, तपस्या तथा गरीबों की सेवा में अपना जीवन समर्पित कर दिया। संत लियोनार्ड का निधन लगभग 559 ई. में हुआ था। उनकी स्मृति में हर वर्ष 6 नवंबर को उनका पर्व मनाया जाता है।
वे हमें सिखाते हैं कि सच्ची स्वतंत्रता धन या शक्ति में नहीं, बल्कि ईश्वर में विश्वास और सेवा में है।
आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु एक धनी व्यक्ति के दृष्टांत के द्वारा हमें सिखाते हैं कि हमें अपने जीवन और संसाधनों का उपयोग बुद्धिमानी से करना चाहिए। संत लियोनार्ड का जीवन इस वचन का सजीव उदाहरण है। वे कुलीन परिवार से थे, परन्तु उन्होंने सांसारिक धन, पद और सम्मान को छोड़कर ईश्वर को चुना।
उन्होंने अपनी समझ और प्रभाव का प्रयोग कैदियों को मुक्त करने, गरीबों की सहायता करने और दुखियों को आशा देने में किया। संत लियोनार्ड जानते थे कि यह संसार अस्थायी है, इसलिए प्रेम, दया और सेवा से हमें अनंत जीवन के लिए खजाना जमा करना चाहिए।
“St. Leonard: Model of Service and Sacrifice”
Philippians 3:17-4:1 | Luke 16:1-8
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Today Mother Church celebrates the feast of St. Leonard of Noblac. He was a saint of the sixth century. He was born around 496 A.D. in France. His father held a high position in the court of King Clovis I. However, Leonard renounced worldly honor and luxury.
Under the guidance of St. Remigius, he received baptism and embraced a religious life. Later, he chose to live in solitude and dedicated his life to prayer, penance, and service to the poor. Saint Leonard died around 559 A.D. His feast is celebrated every year on November 6.
He teaches us that true freedom is not found in wealth or power, but in faith in God and in service.
In today’s Gospel from the Gospel of Luke, we hear the parable of the dishonest steward, whose cleverness the Lord praises. This Gospel teaches us that we must use our lives and resources wisely. The life of Saint Leonard is a living example of this message.
Though he belonged to a noble family, he left behind worldly wealth, position, and honor to choose God. He used his wisdom and influence to free prisoners, help the poor, and give hope to the suffering. Saint Leonard understood that this world is temporary; therefore, through love, mercy, and service, we must store up treasures for eternal life.
Let us also use our wealth, time, and talents wisely, so that our lives may glorify God and become a blessing to others.
