“जीवन को शुद्ध रखना”

प्रिय विश्वासी भाइयों और बहनों, आज का पहला पाठ प्रेरित चरित से तथा सुसमाचार संत योहन से लिया गया है। दोनों पाठ हमें जीवन को शुद्ध रखने का महत्व सिखाते हैं। प्रेरित चरित में हम देखते हैं कि कुछ लोग यहूदिया से अंताखिया आए और उन्होंने कहा कि मूसा की व्यवस्था के अनुसार सभी का खतना होना आवश्यक है। यहूदी समाज में खतना एक महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक नियम माना जाता था और इसे शुद्धिकरण का चिन्ह समझा जाता था।

किन्तु ख्रीस्तीय समुदाय में हम देखते हैं कि शुद्धिकरण केवल बाहरी रीति-रिवाजों से नहीं, बल्कि विश्वास और ईश्वर की कृपा से होता है। हम बपतिस्मा संस्कार के द्वारा ईश्वर के परिवार में सम्मिलित होते हैं और उनके प्रेम में नया जीवन प्राप्त करते हैं। इसलिए सच्ची पवित्रता केवल बाहरी चिन्हों से नहीं, बल्कि हृदय के परिवर्तन से आती है।

पवित्र बाइबिल में प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, “धन्य हैं वे, जिनका हृदय निर्मल है, क्योंकि वे ईश्वर के दर्शन करेंगे” (मत्ती 5:8)। संत पौलुस हमें प्रोत्साहित करते हैं कि हम शरीर और आत्मा के हर प्रकार के दूषण से स्वयं को शुद्ध करें और पवित्रता की पूर्णता की ओर बढ़ें। इसी प्रकार संत योहन हमें स्मरण दिलाते हैं कि जो प्रभु में आशा रखते हैं, वे अपने जीवन को शुद्ध बनाने का प्रयास करते हैं।

आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, “मैं सच्ची दाखलता हूँ और मेरा पिता बागवान है।” जैसे बागवान दाखलता की शाखाओं को काट-छाँटकर फलदायी बनाता है, वैसे ही प्रभु अपने वचन और कृपा के द्वारा हमारे जीवन को शुद्ध करते हैं। जब हम उनके साथ जुड़े रहते हैं, तब हमारा जीवन आध्यात्मिक फल उत्पन्न करता है और हम उनके प्रेम में बने रहते हैं।

हमारे जीवन में भी दुःख, संघर्ष और परीक्षाएँ आ सकती हैं, लेकिन प्रभु हमें कभी नहीं छोड़ते। वे हमारे हृदय को देखते हैं और हमें शुद्ध तथा पवित्र बनने में सहायता करते हैं। आइए हम अपने हृदय को ईश्वर के लिए खोलें, उनकी कृपा और प्रेम का अनुभव करें, और अपने जीवन द्वारा दूसरों को भी सही मार्ग दिखाएँ।

“Purity of Life”

Dear faithful brothers and sisters, today’s First Reading from the Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of Saint John teach us about keeping our lives pure. In the Acts of the Apostles, some men came from Judea to Antioch and insisted that everyone should be circumcised according to the Law of Moses. In Jewish tradition, circumcision was considered an important sign of purification and belonging to God's people.

However, the Christian community came to understand that true purification does not come merely through external practices but through faith and the grace of God. Through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are welcomed into God’s family and receive new life in Christ. True holiness begins with the transformation of the heart.

In the Holy Bible, Jesus says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Saint Paul encourages us to cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit and strive for perfect holiness. Likewise, Saint John reminds us that all who place their hope in Christ seek to purify themselves just as He is pure.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” Just as a gardener prunes the branches so that they may bear more fruit, Jesus purifies our hearts through His Word and His grace. When we remain united with Him, our lives become fruitful and we continue to grow in His love.

We may face sufferings, struggles, and difficulties in life, but the Lord never abandons us. He sees our hearts and helps us become pure and holy. Let us open our hearts to God, experience His grace and love, and become witnesses who guide others on the path of truth and holiness.
