“प्रभु के प्रति विश्वासयोग्यता और आत्म-परीक्षण”
आज के प्रथम पाठ में नबी इसयाह मानवीय कमजोरी का अनुभव व्यक्त करते हैं जब वे कहते हैं कि उन्होंने मानो अपनी शक्ति व्यर्थ खर्च कर दी है। फिर भी वे निराश नहीं होते, क्योंकि उनका भरोसा ईश्वर पर बना रहता है। यह हमें सिखाता है कि चाहे हमारे प्रयासों का परिणाम तुरंत दिखाई न दे, हमें अपने कर्तव्य और बुलाहट के प्रति विश्वासयोग्य बने रहना चाहिए। ईश्वर हमें दूसरों के लिए ज्योति बनने के लिए बुलाते हैं।
आज के सुसमाचार में हम येसु को अत्यंत व्याकुल देखते हैं। उनकी व्याकुलता क्रूस की पीड़ा के कारण नहीं थी, बल्कि इसलिए कि उनके अपने शिष्यों में से एक उन्हें धोखा देने वाला था, एक उन्हें तीन बार अस्वीकार करने वाला था, और बाकी सब उन्हें छोड़कर भाग जाने वाले थे। फिर भी येसु ने अंत तक उनसे प्रेम किया।
यह घटना हमें अपने जीवन की ओर देखने के लिए आमंत्रित करती है। क्या हम प्रभु के प्रति विश्वासयोग्य बने रहते हैं, या कभी-कभी अपने कार्यों, विचारों और शब्दों के द्वारा उन्हें दुःख पहुँचाते हैं?
सुसमाचार में हमें शिष्यों के विभिन्न दृष्टिकोण भी दिखाई देते हैं। संत योहन प्रभु के प्रिय शिष्य हैं जो उनके हृदय के निकट बने रहते हैं। संत पेत्रुस प्रभु से प्रेम करते हैं, परन्तु अपनी मानवीय दुर्बलताओं के कारण बार-बार असफल होते हैं। वहीं यूदस धीरे-धीरे आध्यात्मिक अंधकार में डूब जाता है और अंततः विश्वासघात का मार्ग चुनता है।
आज हम स्वयं से पूछें: क्या मैं प्रभु का प्रिय शिष्य बनने की दिशा में बढ़ रहा हूँ? क्या मैं अनिश्चितता में डगमगा रहा हूँ? या कहीं मैं संसारिक आकर्षणों के कारण आध्यात्मिक अंधकार की ओर तो नहीं बढ़ रहा?
पवित्र यूखरिस्त हमारे विश्वास का केंद्र है। प्रेरितों को प्रथम यूखरिस्त में सहभागी होने का सौभाग्य मिला, किन्तु यूदस ने उसे पापपूर्ण हृदय के साथ ग्रहण किया। इसलिए हमें भी प्रभु को ग्रहण करने से पहले अपने हृदय को तैयार करना चाहिए और उनकी उपस्थिति के प्रति सजग रहना चाहिए।
आइए हम अपने जीवन की जाँच करें और प्रार्थना करें कि हम सच्चे विश्वास, प्रेम और विश्वासयोग्यता के साथ प्रभु के निकट बने रहें तथा संसार में उनकी करुणा के जीवित साक्षी बनें।
“Remaining Faithful to the Lord”
In today’s first reading, the prophet Isaiah expresses a feeling that many of us experience: discouragement. He feels as though he has labored in vain and spent his strength for nothing. Yet, he does not lose hope because his trust remains firmly rooted in God. His example reminds us that even when our efforts seem fruitless, we must remain faithful to our mission and continue to be a light for others.
In the Gospel, Jesus becomes deeply troubled. His sorrow is not primarily because of the suffering of the Cross, but because one of His disciples will betray Him, another will deny Him three times, and the rest will abandon Him. Yet despite knowing all this, Jesus continues to love them until the very end.
Today’s Gospel presents different attitudes toward the Lord through His disciples. John, the beloved disciple, remains close to the heart of Jesus. Peter sincerely desires to follow the Lord but often struggles because of human weakness. Judas gradually allows darkness to enter his heart until it leads him to betrayal.
These examples invite us to reflect on our own spiritual journey. Are we growing closer to Christ like John? Are we struggling like Peter but still striving to remain faithful? Or are we allowing worldly desires and sin to draw us away from the Lord like Judas?
The Gospel also reminds us of the importance of preparing ourselves worthily to receive the Lord in the Holy Eucharist. The Apostles were privileged to participate in the first Eucharist, yet Judas received the Bread of Life while deliberately holding sin in his heart.
As we approach the sacred days of Holy Week, let us examine our conscience. Do our thoughts, words, and actions please the Lord, or do they contribute to His sorrow? Do we prepare ourselves properly to receive Him in the Eucharist and remain aware of His presence throughout the day?
May we grow in love for Christ, remain close to His heart, and become living witnesses of His love and mercy to those around us.
