“देखभाल करने में ही जीवन है”
ख्रीस्त में प्रिय विश्वासियो!
इस तीव्रता से विकसित होती दुनिया में, हम गरीबी और अमीरी के दो ध्रुवों के बीच जीवन बिताते हैं। गरीब वे लोग हैं जो समाज में कम सुविधा प्राप्त करते हैं और जिन्हें अधिक देखभाल और अवसरों की आवश्यकता होती है। जबकि अमीर वे लोग हैं जो स्थिर और संपन्न हैं और जिनका कर्तव्य है कि वे अपने हाथ बढ़ाकर जरूरतमंदों के जीवन को ऊपर उठाएं। आज के समय में हमें एक चिंताजनक स्थिति देखने को मिलती है जहाँ अमीर और अमीर होते जा रहे हैं, और गरीब और गरीब होते जा रहे हैं जिनका जीवन संघर्ष में डूबा रहता है। यह स्थिति मानवों की बढ़ती उदासीनता और कठोरता का परिणाम है।
आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु ‘अमीर और लाजरूस’ की दृष्टांत प्रस्तुत करते हैं। इस दृष्टांत में अमीर व्यक्ति संसार की हर वस्तु का आनंद उठाता है, परन्तु इस संसार से गुजरने के बाद नरक में दुःख भोगता है। वहीं गरीब लाजरूस जो संसार में संघर्ष करता था, स्वर्ग में आराम और सांत्वना प्राप्त करता है। अमीर व्यक्ति को उसकी संपत्ति के कारण नहीं, बल्कि अपने धन को बाँटने से इंकार करने, दयालु और कृपालु न होने, दूसरों के संघर्ष को न देखने की अंधता और अन्य की जरूरतों के प्रति उदासीनता के कारण दंड दिया गया है।
आज के पहले पाठ में प्रभु ईश्वर यिरमियाह नबी के माध्यम से हमें याद दिलाते हैं, “मैं प्रभु, मनुष्य का हृदय और अन्तरतम जानता हूँ। मैं हर एक को उसके आचरण और उसके कर्मों का फल देता हूँ।” (यिरमियाह 17:10) हम अक्सर इस क्षणभंगुर संसार के जीवन में व्यस्त रहते हैं, और परलोक के जीवन को नहीं देख पाते। हमें सदैव याद रखना चाहिए कि इस पृथ्वी पर किए गए कर्मों के अनुसार हमारा न्याय किया जाएगा। यदि हम दयालु हैं, तो हम पर भी दया की जाएगी। यदि हम कृपालु हैं और दूसरों की आवश्यकताओं की देखभाल करते हैं, तो हमें स्वर्गीय सुखों से पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा।
इसके विपरीत, यदि हम अपने समकक्षों के प्रति उदासीन हैं, तो हमें भी दयालु ईश्वर द्वारा नजरअंदाज किया जाएगा। यह चालीसा काल हमें सच्चे प्रायश्चित की ओर ले जाए और हमें दयालु मानव बनाएं।
ईश्वर हम सभी को आशीर्वाद दें।
“LIFE IS FOUND IN CARING”
My dear friends in Christ!
In this rapidly developing world, we live between the two extremes of poverty and wealth. The poor are those who have fewer opportunities and resources in society and who need greater care and support. The rich, on the other hand, are those who are stable and prosperous, and who have the responsibility of extending their hands to uplift those in need. Today, we witness a troubling reality where the rich continue to become richer while the poor become poorer and remain trapped in struggles. This situation is often the result of growing human indifference and hardness of heart.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus presents the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus. The rich man enjoyed every comfort in this world, yet after death he suffered torment. Lazarus, who endured hardship and suffering during his earthly life, was welcomed into comfort and consolation in heaven. The rich man was not condemned because he possessed wealth, but because he refused to share it, failed to show mercy and compassion, remained blind to the suffering of others, and became indifferent to the needs of his neighbour.
In the first reading, through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord reminds us: “I the Lord test the mind and search the heart, to give to all according to their ways, according to the fruit of their doings.” (Jer. 17:10) We are often so occupied with this passing world that we fail to keep our eyes fixed on eternal life. We must remember that we shall be judged according to the deeds we perform on earth. If we are merciful, mercy will be shown to us. If we are generous and care for the needs of others, we shall be rewarded with heavenly blessings.
On the contrary, if we remain indifferent to our brothers and sisters, we too risk being ignored in our need. May this Lenten season lead us to true repentance and transform us into compassionate and caring human beings.
