“विनम्रता में महानता”
ख्रीस्त में प्रिय विश्वासियो!
मनुष्य के स्वभाव में यह प्रवृत्ति पाई जाती है कि वह इस संसार में महान बनना चाहता है। महानता और सफलता की इस खोज में कुछ लोग बहुत परिश्रम करते हैं, शांतिपूर्वक कार्य करते हैं, और विनम्र बने रहते हैं। परन्तु कुछ ऐसे भी होते हैं जो यह जताने का प्रयास करते हैं कि वे दूसरों से श्रेष्ठ हैं। वे अपने शब्दों और कार्यों के माध्यम से सम्मान, प्रशंसा और ध्यान पाने की इच्छा रखते हैं। यह प्रवृत्ति आज के कई नेताओं और प्रभावशाली लोगों में भी देखी जाती है, और यही रवैया आज के विश्व में युद्ध, साम्प्रदायिक संघर्ष और धार्मिक असहिष्णुता जैसे संकटों का कारण बनता है।
आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु अपने समय के धार्मिक नेताओं के इसी व्यवहार को लेकर दो महत्वपूर्ण शिक्षाएँ देते हैं: जैसा हम दूसरों को सिखाते हैं, वैसा ही जीवन स्वयं भी जीयें; और जीवन में विनम्र बने रहें। एक व्यक्ति की विश्वसनीयता इस बात से तय होती है कि वह अपनी बातों पर कितना खरा उतरता है। व्यक्ति का सच्चा चरित्र उसके कार्यों में प्रकट होता है।
कोई व्यक्ति अपनी बुद्धिमत्ता, कौशल, मेहनत और प्रयासों से पूरे संसार जीत सकता है, लेकिन यदि वह विनम्र नहीं है, तो उसकी महानता का कोई मूल्य नहीं। और उसके सारे प्रयास और योग्यताएँ भी बेकार समझी जाएँगी। इसके विपरीत, एक विनम्र व्यक्ति, यदि वह किसी छोटे से कार्य में भी सफलता प्राप्त करता है, तो वह भी सम्मानित होता है और सच्चे अर्थों में महान कहलाता है।
हमें समाज में झूठी प्रतिष्ठा और नकली सम्मान के बजाय, जीवन की सच्चाई और ईमानदारी की ओर ध्यान देना चाहिए।
इसलिए, आइए हम अपनी योग्यताओं पर घमंड न करें, बल्कि अपने हृदय को विनम्रता और सत्यनिष्ठा से भरें। जो कुछ हम मानते हैं और सिखाते हैं, उसी के अनुसार जीने वाले सच्चे ख्रीस्तीय बनें। प्रभु हमें यह सच्चा ह्रदय प्रदान करें, ताकि हम प्रतिदिन के जीवन में सही कार्यों का चुनाव कर सकें।
“GREATNESS IN HUMILITY”
My dear friends in Christ!
We humans have a natural tendency to become great in the world. In our pursuit to be great and successful, some may undertake a lot of tasks, work hard silently and remain humble. Yet some attempt to show to others that they are greater than anyone else. They express their desire to be greater through their words and actions in a way by expecting praise, honour and attention from others.
This kind of attitude is very much present among our present world leaders and is disastrous. In fact, this is one of the major reasons for war, communal conflicts and religious intolerance etc. in the world.
In today’s Gospel, concerning this kind of behaviour of the religious leaders of his time, Jesus strictly gives two important teachings: to live by what we teach others and to remain humble in life. Credibility of a person is determined by the way one keeps up his words. One’s true personality is tested and testified by his actions.
One may attain the whole world by his intelligence, skills, hard work and effort but fails to remain humble, then his greatness is counted as nothing. Along with it all his efforts and abilities also would be devalued. On the contrary a humble person even if he gains success in a small little thing will be honoured as great.
All that it is needed is integrity of life than false identity and fake honour in the society.
So, let our hearts not be proud of our abilities rather be filled with humility and integrity. Let us become authentic people who live by what we believe and teach others. May God grant us the right spirit to discern our course of action in day-to-day activities.
