“मसीह को पहचानने, अनुभव करने और साक्ष्य देने के लिए बुलाए गए”

ख्रीस्त में प्रिय विश्वासियो!

आज के सुसमाचार में हम प्रभु येसु के रूपांतरण के उस घटना के बारे में पढ़ते हैं जिसमें उन्होंने अपनी दिव्यता प्रकट किया। शिष्यों को येसु के ईश्वर-पुत्र होने का प्रमाण तब मिला जब मूसा और एलिय्याह उनके साथ दिखाई दिए और स्वर्गीय बादल से पिता की यह घोषणा हुई: “यह मेरा प्रिय पुत्र है। मैं इस पर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हूँ; इसकी सुनो।” (मत्ती 17:5) येसु के शिष्यों के लिए यह एक अद्भुत और अलौकिक अनुभव था। हालाँकि उस क्षण वे भय और आश्चर्य से भर गए, परन्तु बाद में यही प्रकाशन उन्हें जीवित प्रभु पर विश्वास दिलाती है, और अंततः उन्हें सुसमाचार के प्रचार हेतु पूरी दुनिया में भेजे जाने के मिशन में अग्रसर करती है।

ईश-दर्शन का यह अनुभव इतना गहरा था कि प्रेरितों ने इसे व्यक्तिगत रूप से अपनाया और अपने साहसी प्रेरितिक कार्यों के माध्यम से इसका साक्ष्य दिया। हम 1 पेत्रुस 1:20 में पढ़ते हैं: "वह संसार की सृष्टि से पहले ही नियुक्त किये गये थे, किन्तु समय के अन्त में आपके लिए प्रकट हुए। आप लोग अब उन्हीं के द्वारा ईश्वर में विश्वास करते हैं।" संत योहन अपनी पहले पत्र 1:3 में लिखते हैं: "हमने जो देखा और सुना है, वही हम तुम लोगों को भी बताते हैं, जिससे तुम हमारे साथ पिता और उस के पुत्र ईसा मसीह के जीवन के सहभागी बनो।" ईश्वर के इस प्रकटन ने शिष्यों को प्रभु को पहचानने, उन्हें स्वीकार करने, और उनकी दिव्यता को स्वीकार करने में सहायता की। यह अनुभव इतना गहरा था कि उन्होंने इसे दुनिया के सामने साक्ष्य रूप में प्रस्तुत किया।

हमारे जीवन में भी प्रभु अनेक तरीकों से अपने आप को प्रकट करते हैं। सबसे पहले, वह पवित्रग्रन्थ, कलीसिया की परंपरा और उसकी शिक्षाओं के माध्यम से हमारे लिए प्रकट होते हैं। सबसे निकट और व्यक्तिगत रूप में वह पवित्र यूखरिस्त में प्रकट होते हैं। क्या हम उन्हें उनके वचन और यूखरिस्त में पहचानते हैं?

हमें आत्म-निरीक्षण करना चाहिए कि हमने अपने जीवन में प्रभु का अनुभव किस प्रकार किया है। केवल जब हम प्रभु को अपने जीवन में पहचानते हैं, तभी हम उनके अद्भुत कार्यों को पहचान पाएँगे, और तभी हम उनके सच्चे साक्षी बन सकेंगे।

आइए, हम अपने जीवन-यात्रा में प्रभु को पहचानने का सच्चा प्रयास करें और अपने ख्रीस्तीय जीवन के द्वारा तथा उसके माध्यम से उनके प्रेम, भलाई और करुणा को अपने आसपास के लोगों तक पहुँचाएँ।

“CALLED TO RECOGNISE, EXPERIENCE AND TESTIFY CHRIST”

My dear friends in Christ!

In today’s Gospel we read the episode of Jesus revealing his divinity at his Transfiguration. The disciples were given the affirmation of Jesus’ divine sonship by the appearance of Moses and Elijah and by the loud declaration by the Father in the voice from the cloud, “Here is my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!” (Mt.17:5) For the disciples of Jesus, this revelation was an extraordinary and supernatural event. Although they were overwhelmed with fear and wonder at that moment, later this revelation makes them believe in the risen Lord and eventually to go out into a world mission of spreading the Gospel.

This revelation of God was so profound that the Apostles personalised and testified to it through their bold missionary endeavours. We read in 1 Peter 1:20, “He was destined before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the ages for your sake.” St. John writes in his first letter 1:3, “We declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us.” With the revelation of God, the disciples recognised the Lord, accepted him as the Lord and acknowledged his Divinity. This experience is so intense that it compelled them to testify to it and bear witness in the world.

In our lives too, the Lord reveals himself to us in various ways. First of all, he reveals himself to us through the Scripture, the Tradition of the Church and the sacred teachings of the Church. Most of all, he reveals himself very personally and closely in the Holy Eucharist. How much do we recognise him in the Word of God and in the Eucharist?

We must introspect ourselves to find out our experience of the Lord. It is only by recognising the Lord in our lives that we will be able to acknowledge his miraculous works in us and bear witness to him.

Let us genuinely make efforts to acknowledge the Lord in our life journey and to spread his goodness to those around us in and through our Christian living.
