“संकीर्ण मार्ग चुनो”
ख्रीस्त में मेरे प्यारे भाइयों और बहनों,
आज के पवित्र पाठ हमें विश्वास और सही मार्ग को चुनने की चुनौती देते हैं।
पहले पाठ में हम राजा हिज़कीया की स्थिति देखते हैं। अस्सूर का शक्तिशाली राजा येरूसालेम को धमकी दे रहा था और लोगों के मन में भय पैदा कर रहा था। उसने यह तक कहा कि कोई भी ईश्वर उन्हें बचा नहीं सकता। ऐसी कठिन परिस्थिति में हिज़कीया ने घबराने के बजाय प्रभु के मन्दिर में जाकर प्रार्थना की और सब कुछ प्रभु के सामने रख दिया। यही उसका बल था — उसका भरोसा। और प्रभु ने उसकी प्रार्थना सुनी तथा अपने लोगों की रक्षा की। यह हमें सिखाता है कि जब हम अपनी चिंताओं और संकटों को प्रभु के सामने रखते हैं, तब वह हमारे लिए मार्ग खोलता है।
सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु हमें जीवन के दो मार्गों के बारे में बताते हैं। एक मार्ग चौड़ा और आसान है, जिस पर बहुत लोग चलते हैं, लेकिन वह विनाश की ओर ले जाता है। दूसरा मार्ग सँकरा है जिसमें अनुशासन, त्याग और सच्चाई की आवश्यकता होती है परन्तु वही जीवन की ओर ले जाता है।
येसु हमें “स्वर्ण नियम” भी सिखाते हैं: जैसा व्यवहार हम दूसरों से अपने लिए चाहते हैं, वैसा ही व्यवहार हमें उनके साथ करना चाहिए। हम अपने दैनिक जीवन में इसका एक सरल उदाहरण देख सकते हैं। जब कोई हमारे साथ कठोर या अन्यायपूर्ण व्यवहार करता है, तो हमारा मन भी वैसा ही उत्तर देने के लिए प्रेरित होता है। परन्तु प्रभु का मार्ग हमें सिखाता है कि हम धैर्य, करुणा और भलाई के साथ उत्तर दें। यही संकीर्ण मार्ग है — कठिन, परन्तु जीवन देने वाला।
इसलिए आज प्रभु हमें आमंत्रित करते हैं कि हम भय या आसान रास्तों के पीछे न भागें, बल्कि विश्वास और प्रेम के उस मार्ग को चुनें जो हमें सच्चे जीवन की ओर ले जाता है। आइए हम प्रभु से यह अनुग्रह माँगें कि कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी हमारा भरोसा उस पर बना रहे और हम अपने जीवन में उसके बताए संकीर्ण, किन्तु जीवनदायी मार्ग पर चल सकें। आमेन।
“Choose the Narrow Path”
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s readings invite us to trust in God and to choose the path that leads to true life.
In the first reading we see the situation of King Hezekiah. The powerful king of Assyria threatened Jerusalem and tried to frighten the people by saying that no god could save them. In that moment of danger, Hezekiah did not rely only on his own strength. Instead, he went to the temple and placed the threatening letter before the Lord in prayer. His strength was his trust in God. And the Lord heard his prayer and protected His people. This teaches us that when we bring our fears and struggles before God, He is able to guide and protect us.
In the Gospel, Jesus speaks about two paths in life. One path is wide and easy, and many people choose it, but it leads to destruction. The other path is narrow and requires discipline, sacrifice, and faithfulness, yet it leads to life.
Jesus also gives the “Golden Rule”: treat others as you would like them to treat you. We can see this in everyday life. When someone speaks harshly to us, our natural reaction is to respond in the same way. But the way of the Lord invites us to respond with patience, kindness, and mercy. This is the narrow path—more difficult, but truly life-giving.
Today the Lord calls us not to follow what is easy or popular, but to walk the path of trust, goodness, and love. May the Lord give us the grace to trust Him in difficult moments and to faithfully walk the narrow path that leads to true life. Amen.
