“भय मत करो”
ख्रीस्त में मेरे प्यारे भाइयों और बहनों,
आज के पवित्र पाठ हमें यह सिखाते हैं कि विश्वास का मार्ग हमेशा आसान नहीं होता, लेकिन प्रभु अपने विश्वासयोग्य लोगों को कभी अकेला नहीं छोड़ते।
पहले पाठ में हम नबी यिरमियाह के अनुभव को सुनते हैं। लोग उनके विरुद्ध षड्यंत्र रच रहे थे, उनके शब्दों का मज़ाक उड़ा रहे थे और उनके गिरने की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे। फिर भी यिरमियाह निराश नहीं होते। वे विश्वास के साथ कहते हैं कि प्रभु एक पराक्रमी शूरवीर की तरह उनके साथ हैं। इसलिए वे जानते हैं कि अंत में सत्य और न्याय की विजय होगी। कठिनाई और विरोध के बीच भी उनका भरोसा प्रभु पर बना रहता है।
दूसरे पाठ में संत पौलुस हमें मानव इतिहास की गहरी सच्चाई समझाते हैं। एक मनुष्य, आदम, के कारण पाप और मृत्यु संसार में प्रवेश कर गये; लेकिन ईश्वर की कृपा उससे कहीं अधिक महान है, जो हमें प्रभु येसु मसीह के द्वारा प्राप्त हुई है। जहाँ पाप ने मानव जीवन को घेर लिया, वहीं मसीह के द्वारा हमें नया जीवन और अनुग्रह मिला।
आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु अपने शिष्यों से कहते हैं “लोगों से मत डरो।” जो लोग शरीर को हानि पहुँचा सकते हैं, वे आत्मा को नष्ट नहीं कर सकते। प्रभु हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि स्वर्गिक पिता अपनी सृष्टि की छोटी से छोटी वस्तु का भी ध्यान रखते हैं। यदि गौरैया भी उसकी दृष्टि से छिपी नहीं है, तो हम, जो उसके प्रिय पुत्र-पुत्रियाँ हैं, उसके लिए कितने अधिक मूल्यवान हैं।
इसलिए प्रभु हमें साहस के साथ अपने विश्वास को जीने और स्वीकार करने के लिए बुलाते हैं। जो मनुष्य के सामने मसीह को स्वीकार करता है, उसे प्रभु येसु भी स्वर्गिक पिता के सामने स्वीकार करेंगे।
आइए हम प्रभु से यह अनुग्रह माँगें कि हम भय से नहीं, बल्कि विश्वास और भरोसे से जीवन जी सकें, और अपने शब्दों और जीवन से सदा प्रभु येसु के साक्षी बन सके। आमेन।
“Do Not Be Afraid”
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s readings remind us that the path of faith is not always easy, yet the Lord never abandons those who trust in Him.
In the first reading we hear the experience of the prophet Jeremiah. Many people were plotting against him and waiting for him to fail. Despite this hostility, Jeremiah remains confident because he knows that the Lord is with him like a mighty warrior. Even in suffering and rejection, he continues to trust that God will ultimately bring justice and deliver the faithful.
In the second reading, Saint Paul explains a profound truth about salvation history. Through one man, Adam, sin and death entered the world. Yet the grace of God is far greater than that fall, because through one man—Jesus Christ—God has given humanity the gift of grace and new life.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells His disciples, “Do not be afraid.” People may harm the body, but they cannot destroy the soul. Jesus reminds us that not even a sparrow falls to the ground without the Father’s knowledge. If God cares for even the smallest creature, how much more does He care for us.
Therefore, Jesus invites us to live our faith courageously. Whoever acknowledges Him before others, He will acknowledge before the heavenly Father.
May the Lord give us the grace to live not in fear, but in trust, so that through our lives and words we may always bear witness to Christ. Amen.
