“तुम्हारा खजाना कहाँ है?”
ख्रीस्त में मेरे प्यारे भाइयों और बहनों,
आज के पवित्र पाठ हमें यह सोचने के लिए आमंत्रित करते हैं कि हमारा हृदय वास्तव में किस पर टिका हुआ है। मनुष्य का हृदय जिस चीज़ से जुड़ जाता है, वही उसके जीवन की दिशा तय करती है।
पहले पाठ में हम देखते हैं कि राजा अहज़्या की मृत्यु के बाद उसकी माता अतल्या ने अपने ही राजकुल को नष्ट करने का प्रयास किया ताकि सत्ता उसके हाथ में बनी रहे। भय और स्वार्थ ने उसके हृदय को इस प्रकार अंधा कर दिया कि वह निर्दोषों के प्राण लेने से भी नहीं हिचकिचाई। परन्तु उसी समय ईश्वर की योजना भी कार्य कर रही थी। यहोशेबा ने छोटे राजकुमार योआश को बचा लिया और वह कई वर्षों तक प्रभु के मन्दिर में सुरक्षित रहा। बाद में याजक यहोयादा ने उसे राजा के रूप में अभिषेक किया और इस प्रकार ईश्वर ने दाऊद के वंश को सुरक्षित रखा।
यह घटना हमें बताती है कि जब मनुष्य सत्ता, भय या स्वार्थ में उलझ जाता है, तब उसका हृदय अंधकार से भर जाता है। लेकिन ईश्वर की योजना अंततः सत्य और न्याय को ही स्थापित करती है।
इसी सच्चाई को प्रभु येसु आज के सुसमाचार में और स्पष्ट करते हैं। वे कहते हैं, “जहाँ तुम्हारी पूँजी है, वहीं तुम्हारा हृदय भी रहेगा।” यदि हमारा मन केवल सांसारिक वस्तुओं, धन और प्रतिष्ठा में लगा रहेगा, तो हमारा हृदय धीरे-धीरे उसी में बँध जाएगा। लेकिन यदि हम अपना खजाना ईश्वर में रखते हैं, तो हमारा जीवन भी उसके प्रकाश से भर जाता है।
येसु आगे कहते हैं कि आँख शरीर का दीपक है। इसका अर्थ है कि हमारा दृष्टिकोण और हमारी इच्छाएँ हमारे पूरे जीवन को प्रभावित करती हैं। यदि हमारी दृष्टि शुद्ध और सही हो, तो जीवन प्रकाश से भर जाता है; पर यदि हमारा मन स्वार्थ और लालच से भर जाए, तो वही अंधकार पूरे जीवन को ढक लेता है।
मेरे प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज के पाठ हमें अपने हृदय की जाँच करने के लिए बुलाते हैं। हम अपने जीवन में किस चीज़ को सबसे अधिक महत्व देते हैं? क्या हमारा हृदय ईश्वर की ओर लगा है या केवल सांसारिक बातों में उलझा हुआ है? आइए हम प्रभु से यह अनुग्रह माँगें कि वह हमारे हृदय को शुद्ध करे, हमारी दृष्टि को प्रकाशमय बनाए, ताकि हमारा जीवन सचमुच ईश्वर की ओर उन्मुख रहे और हम उसके राज्य की सच्ची खोज करें। आमेन।
“Where Your Treasure Is”
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s readings invite us to reflect on where our hearts are truly anchored. What a person values most eventually shapes the direction of his or her life.
In the first reading, after the death of King Ahaziah, his mother Athaliah tried to destroy the entire royal family in order to secure power for herself. Fear and ambition blinded her heart, leading her to terrible actions. Yet even in this dark moment, God’s plan was quietly unfolding. Jehosheba rescued the young prince Joash and hid him in the temple of the Lord for several years. In time, the priest Jehoiada brought him forward and anointed him as king, preserving the line of David according to God’s promise.
This shows us that human power and selfish ambition may seem strong for a time, but God ultimately brings forth justice and truth.
In the Gospel, Jesus teaches a similar lesson. He tells his disciples, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” If our treasure is only in earthly possessions, wealth, or status, our hearts will become attached to them. But if our treasure is in God, our lives will be filled with His light.
Jesus also says that the eye is the lamp of the body. Our inner vision—our intentions and desires—guides our whole life. When our vision is clear and focused on what is good, our life is filled with light. But when our vision becomes clouded by selfishness or greed, darkness can enter our lives.
Today the Lord invites us to examine our hearts. What is the true treasure of our life? May we ask the Lord to purify our hearts and guide our vision, so that our lives may always seek what leads us closer to God. Amen.
