“सच्ची प्रार्थना और क्षमा”
ख्रीस्त में मेरे प्यारे भाइयों और बहनों,
हमारे जीवन में प्रार्थना का बहुत महत्वपूर्ण स्थान है। हर दिन हम ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करते हैं, अपनी आवश्यकताओं और चिंताओं को उसके सामने रखते हैं। लेकिन कई बार ऐसा भी होता है कि हमारी प्रार्थना केवल शब्दों तक सीमित रह जाती है। हम बहुत कुछ कहते हैं, परन्तु हमारा हृदय उतना गहराई से ईश्वर की ओर नहीं बढ़ता।
आज का पवित्र सुसमाचार हमें सिखाता है कि सच्ची प्रार्थना केवल शब्दों की अधिकता में नहीं, बल्कि विश्वास, सरलता और हृदय की सच्चाई में होती है। प्रभु येसु अपने शिष्यों से कहते हैं कि प्रार्थना करते समय केवल लम्बी-लम्बी बातें न दोहराओ, जैसे कि कुछ लोग करते हैं। हमारा स्वर्गिक पिता तो हमारे माँगने से पहले ही जानता है कि हमें क्या चाहिए।
इसलिए येसु हमें वह महान प्रार्थना सिखाते हैं जिसे हम “हे हमारे पिता” कहते हैं। इस प्रार्थना में हम ईश्वर को अपना पिता कहकर संबोधित करते हैं और उससे निवेदन करते हैं कि उसकी इच्छा हमारे जीवन में पूरी हो। इस प्रार्थना का एक बहुत गहरा भाग है—क्षमा। जब हम कहते हैं, “हमारे अपराध क्षमा कर, जैसे हमने भी अपने अपराधियों को क्षमा किया है,” तब प्रभु हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि यदि हम दूसरों को क्षमा नहीं करते, तो हम सच में ईश्वर की क्षमा को ग्रहण नहीं कर पाते।
आज का पहला पाठ हमें नबी एलियाह की महानता की याद दिलाता है। उन्होंने ईश्वर के प्रति गहरी निष्ठा और साहस का जीवन जिया। वे शक्तिशाली नबी थे, परन्तु उनकी शक्ति का स्रोत केवल ईश्वर के साथ उनका संबंध था। उसी आत्मिक शक्ति का भाग बाद में एलीशा को भी मिला।
मेरे प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज के पाठ हमें यह समझाते हैं कि सच्चा आध्यात्मिक जीवन ईश्वर के साथ जीवंत संबंध से जन्म लेता है। जब हम सच्चे हृदय से प्रार्थना करते हैं और दूसरों को क्षमा करना सीखते हैं, तब हमारा जीवन वास्तव में ईश्वर की संतान के रूप में बदलने लगता है। आमेन।
“True Prayer and Forgiveness”
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Prayer has a very important place in our lives. Every day we come before God with our needs and concerns. Yet sometimes our prayer becomes only a repetition of words, while our hearts remain distant.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches us that true prayer is not about many words, but about sincerity, faith, and trust in God. Jesus tells His disciples not to pray with empty repetitions as some people do. Our heavenly Father already knows what we need even before we ask Him.
Therefore, Jesus teaches us the beautiful prayer we call the “Our Father.” In this prayer we address God as our Father and entrust our lives to His will. One of the most important parts of this prayer is forgiveness. When we say, “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,” Jesus reminds us that we must learn to forgive others if we want to receive God’s mercy in our lives.
In the first reading we hear about the prophet Elijah, a great servant of God who lived with courage and deep faith. His strength came from his close relationship with God. The same spiritual power was later given to Elisha. This reminds us that when a person lives close to God, God’s power works through that person.
Today’s readings invite us to remember that a true spiritual life flows from a living relationship with God. When we pray sincerely and learn to forgive others, our lives begin to reflect the love and mercy of God. Let us ask the Lord to teach us how to pray with a sincere heart and to fill us with the grace to forgive, so that our lives may truly reflect that we are children of God. Amen.
