“विश्वास और अस्वीकृति”
31/07/26 पहला पाठ यिर्मयाह 26:1-9, सुसमाचार संत मत्ती 13:54-58
आज हमें दो भिन्न व्यक्तियों की कहानियाँ सुनने को मिलती हैं। यिर्मयाह जो ईश्वर पर पूर्ण विश्वास रखते हैं लेकिन उनके अपने लोग उन्हें अस्वीकार करते हैं और ईश्वर के विरुद्ध खड़े हो जाते हैं, फिर भी यिर्मयाह ईश्वर पर विश्वास रखते हुए दृढ़ खड़े रहते हैं।
दूसरी ओर, येसु अपने नगर नाज़रत में जहाँ उनका जन्म हुआ, शिक्षा देते हैं, लेकिन लोग उनकी शिक्षा को मानने से इनकार कर देते हैं। इस कारण प्रभु वहाँ अधिक चमत्कार नहीं करते।
आज के दोनों पाठ हमें सिखाते हैं कि जो ईश्वर की शिक्षा को फैलाने की कोशिश करते हैं, उन्हें विभिन्न चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ता है। लेकिन जो प्रभु पर विश्वास करके अंत तक खड़े रहते हैं, उन्हें प्रभु की कृपा प्राप्त होती है।
“Faith Amid Rejection”
Today, we hear the stories of two different individuals. Jeremiah has complete faith in God but is rejected by his own people who oppose God’s message. Yet Jeremiah remains faithful.
On the other hand, Jesus teaches in His hometown of Nazareth, but the people refuse to accept His teachings. Because of their unbelief, the Lord does not perform many miracles there.
Both readings today teach us that those who try to spread God’s teachings often face various challenges. However, those who remain faithful to the Lord until the end receive His blessings.
Jeremiah boldly prophesies that if the people do not repent, the temple will be destroyed like Shiloh. The priests and people become furious and seize him, accusing him of treason. Yet he stands firm as God’s mouthpiece.
In Nazareth, Jesus teaches with authority, but the people respond with skepticism: “Is not this the carpenter’s son?” Their unbelief limits His miracles. These scenes reveal the peril of prophecy: faithful words provoke rejection — whether from temple guardians or familiar neighbors. Yet God’s power breaks through open hearts.
We learn courage in sharing truth, knowing that doubt hinders blessings, but trust invites divine wonders even in hostile ground.
