प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज के पाठ हमें उन तूफ़ानों पर चिंतन करने के लिए आमंत्रित करते हैं—कुछ जो हमारे बाहर आते हैं, और कुछ जो हमारे भीतर उठते हैं। सुसमाचार में शिष्य समुद्र में एक भयंकर तूफ़ान का सामना करते हैं, जबकि पहले पाठ में राजा दाऊद अपने पाप के कारण उठे एक आत्मिक तूफ़ान का सामना करते हैं।

दाऊद ने सोचा था कि उसका अपराध छुपा रहेगा, लेकिन ईश्वर ने नबी नातान को भेजकर सच्चाई को उजागर किया। नातान ने स्पष्ट रूप से कहा— “आप ही वह धनी व्यक्ति है”। एक तूफ़ान समुद्र पर था, दूसरा आत्मा के भीतर। दोनों में ईश्वर उपस्थित थे—नाश करने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि सत्य से सामना कराने और शांति देने के लिए।

पाप, एक छुपे तूफ़ान की तरह, एक दिन प्रकट हो ही जाता है। दाऊद की सबसे बड़ी कृपा तब आई जब उसने सच्चाई का सामना किया। ठीक वैसे ही, शिष्यों का भय उन्हें येसु की उपस्थिति के प्रति अंधा कर रहा था। प्रभु आज भी तूफ़ानों को शांत करते हैं, पर कई बार वह समुद्र को शांत करने से पहले, अपने बच्चे के हृदय को शांत करते हैं। आइए हम अपने हर तूफ़ान को ईश्वर के चरणों में रखें।

"Storms Within and Storms Without: Facing the Truth with Christ"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s Scripture readings invite us to reflect on the storms that rage—some outside of us, and some within. In the Gospel, the disciples face a physical storm on the sea. In the first reading, King David faces a spiritual storm stirred by his own hidden sin.

After David’s sin with Bathsheba, he thought his actions were hidden. But God sent Nathan to expose the truth, declaring, “You are the man!” One storm was on a sea; the other was in a soul. In both cases, God was present not to destroy, but to confront, correct, and ultimately bring peace.

What do these stories teach us? Sin, like a hidden storm, will eventually surface. David’s moment of grace came when he faced the truth and repented. Similarly, the disciples' fear blinded them to Jesus' power. Christ does not leave us alone; He speaks peace into our chaos.

Whether the storm is within (like guilt) or without (like fear), the answer is the same: turn to God in humility. Christ still calms storms. But sometimes, before He calms the sea, He calms His child. Let us bring our storms, seen and unseen, to Him today with honest faith.
