“ईश्वर की विश्वासयोग्यता और हमारी प्रतिक्रिया: ज्योति को चमकने दो”

प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज के पाठ हमें ईश्वर की प्रतिज्ञाओं और हमारी प्रतिक्रिया के बीच एक सुंदर विचार में ले जाते हैं। पहले पाठ में हम देखते हैं कि राजा दाऊद ईश्वर की कृपा से भरे हैं। जब उन्हें याद दिलाया गया कि ईश्वर ने उनके लिए क्या-क्या किया है, उन्हें चरवाहे की दशा से उठाकर राजा बना दिया, तब दाऊद विनम्र होकर प्रभु के सामने बैठते हैं और कहते हैं, "प्रभु- ईश्वर! मैं क्या हूँ और मेरा वंश क्या है, जो तू मुझे यहाँ तक ले आया है?"

दाऊद इन आशीर्वादों को हल्के में नहीं लेते; इसके विपरीत, वे कृतज्ञता से झुक जाते हैं। सुसमाचार में, येसु प्रकाश के बारे में कहते हैं: “क्या लोग इसलिए दीपक जलाते हैं कि उसे पैमाने अथवा पलंग के नीचे रखें? क्या वे उसे दीवट पर नहीं रखते?” यह इस बात को दर्शाता है कि हम ईश्वर की दी हुई कृपा का किस प्रकार उत्तर देते हैं।

अक्सर, हम अपने विश्वास को छुपा लेते हैं। हम उसे जीवन के एक कोने में रख देते हैं, जबकि उसे हमारे शब्दों, निर्णयों और संबंधों को आकार देना चाहिए। येसु हमें याद दिलाते हैं, “ऐसा कुछ भी छिपा हुआ नहीं है, जो प्रकट नहीं किया जायेगा”। इसलिए, हमें उस सत्य को नहीं छुपाना चाहिए। प्रार्थना करें कि हम दाऊद की तरह ईश्वर की भलाई को पहचानें और उस प्रकाश को दूसरों के लिए चमकाएँ।

“God’s Faithfulness and Our Response: Let the Light Shine”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s readings draw us into a beautiful conversation between God’s promises and our response. In the first reading, King David recognizes that all he has is because of God’s unmerited favour. He asks, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house that you have brought me thus far?” He bows in gratitude and prays for God's continued presence.

In the Gospel, Jesus speaks about light: “Is a lamp brought into be put under the bushel basket, or under the bed, and not on the lampstand.” He adds, “The measure you give will be the measure you get.” God pours blessings into our lives not to be hidden, but to be shared and reflected.

Too often, we hide the light. We keep our faith in a corner of our lives instead of letting it shape our words and choices. Jesus reminds us that nothing is hidden that will not be revealed. Let us not hide the Truth we’ve received. Like the lamp on the stand, let His light shine through us for the sake of the world.
