प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज का पाठ हमें उस महान यात्रा की याद दिलाता है जो प्रभु ने हमें अंधकार से निकाल कर अपने अद्भुत प्रकाश में लाने के लिए शुरू की है। आज के पहले पाठ मे नबी इसायाह कहते हैं: "अंधकार में भटकने वाले लोगों ने एक महती ज्योति देखी है।"

इस वचन को पूर्ण होते हम आज के सुसमाचार में पाते है जब येसु अपनी यात्रा कफरनहूम की ओर शुरू करते है। उन्होंने गैर यहूदियो की गलीलिया को चुना—यह वही क्षेत्र था जहाँ लोग धार्मिक रूप से उपेक्षित थे, लेकिन येसु ने वहीं जाकर आशा और उद्धार का प्रकाश फैलाया। यह दिखाने के लिए कि कोई भी उपेक्षित या छोड़ा नहीं गया है। और इसी प्रकाश को फ़ैलाने के लिए सिमोन और अंद्रेयस का बुलावा होता है।

यह बुलावा आज हम सबके लिए है। येसु आज भी हमें बुला रहे हैं हमारे साधारण जीवन में, हमारी दैनिक जीवन मे परिवर्तन लाने। पौलुस हमे याद दिलाते कि हमारा बुलावा एकता मे होना चाहिए और कहते है: "मैं तुमसे यह विनती करता हूँ... कि तुम सब एकमत रहो... और तुम्हारे बीच विभाजन न हो।"

कभी-कभी हम भी ‘मैं पौलुस का हूँ’, ‘मैं अपुल्लोस का हूँ’ जैसे गुटों में बँट जाते हैं। लेकिन पौलुस हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि क्रूस पर मरे येसु ने हमें एक किया है। येसु बँटा नहीं है और उसकी कलीसिया भी बँटी नहीं होनी चाहिए। हमारा बुलावा संसार में प्रभु येसु का प्रकाश बनने के लिए है। आइए, हम इस आवाज़ को सुने, उत्तर दें, और उसकी ज्योति को संसार में फैलाएँ। येसु आज भी कहते हैं: "मेरे पीछे हो लो।"

Dear brothers and sisters, today's readings remind us of that great journey the Lord began to lead us out of darkness into His marvellous light. In the first reading, the prophet Isaiah says: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.”

We see the fulfilment of this word in today’s Gospel, when Jesus begins His ministry and sets out for Capernaum. He chose Galilee of the Gentiles—a region considered religiously neglected—to reveal the light of hope and salvation. This was to show that no one is abandoned or forgotten. And it is in this same region that Simon and Andrew receive their call.

This call is for all of us today. Jesus still calls us in our ordinary lives, to bring transformation in our daily routine. St. Paul reminds us that this calling must be lived in unity, saying, "I appeal to you... that all of you agree... and that there be no divisions among you."

Christ is not divided and His Church should not be divided either. Today we need unity in thoughts, in actions, and in faith. Our calling is to become the light of Christ in the world. Jesus called His disciples, taught them, and then sent them so that they too might bring light to those dwelling in darkness. Jesus still says today: “Follow me.” Let us hear this voice, respond to it, and spread His light in the world.
