येसु के बपतिस्मा के समय स्वर्ग खुला और स्वर्ग से यह वाणी सुनाई दी: “यह मेरा प्रिय पुत्र है, मैं इस पर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हूँ।” बपतिस्मा के द्वारा ईश्वर ने येसु की सार्वजनिक पहचान प्रकट की। उसी प्रकार, जब हम बपतिस्मा लेते हैं, तो हम केवल पानी में डूबकी नहीं लगाते, बल्कि अपने पुराने जीवन को छोड़कर नए जीवन में प्रवेश करते हैं। आज के जीवन में प्रश्न यह है—हम कौन हैं? क्या हम अपने आप को केवल नाम, जाति, धर्म या पेशे से पहचानते हैं? या फिर ईश्वर की प्रिय संतान के रूप में जीते हैं? सच्ची पहचान यही है—मैं ईश्वर का प्रिय हूँ, उसी ने मुझे चुना है।

बपतिस्मा नई जिम्मेदारी है। मसीह की सेवा करुणा, न्याय और प्रेम से भरी हुई है। येसु बपतिस्मा के बाद जन-सेवा के लिए निकले। यह बुलावा हमारे लिए भी है। घर में, माता-पिता और बच्चों को प्रेम देना, समाज में, टूटे-बिखरे हुए लोगों को सहारा देना; कार्यस्थल पर, ईमानदारी और न्याय के साथ काम करना; कलीसिया में सक्रिय सदस्य बनना आदि।

बपतिस्मा हमें नई शक्ति भी देता है। प्रेरितों चरित में हम पढ़ते हैं—ईश्वर ने येसु को पवित्र आत्मा और सामर्थ्य से अभिषिक्त किया। उसी प्रकार, बपतिस्मा के साथ ही हमें भी पवित्र आत्मा की शक्ति मिलती है। आज की चुनौतियों में हम अक्सर कमजोर क्यों पड़ जाते हैं? क्योंकि हम आत्मा की शक्ति को भूल जाते हैं। हमें अकेले नहीं चलना है, बल्कि पवित्र आत्मा के सहारे आगे बढ़ना है।

आज के जीवन के लिए प्रेरणा यह है कि हम ईश्वर की संतान हैं; स्वीकार करें कि हमारा जीवन केवल हमारे लिए नहीं, बल्कि दूसरों के लिए भी है। हम पवित्र आत्मा की शक्ति में चलें ताकि आप भी लोगों के लिए आशा और प्रकाश बन सकें।

At the time of Jesus’ baptism, the heavens opened, and a voice from heaven was heard: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Through baptism, God publicly revealed Jesus’ identity. Likewise, when we are baptized, we are not merely immersed in water; we leave our old life behind and enter a new life. In today’s life, the question is: Who are we? Do we identify ourselves only by our name, caste, religion, or profession? Or do we live as God’s beloved children? True identity is: I am God’s beloved, chosen by Him.

Baptism is also a new responsibility. Serving Christ is filled with compassion, justice, and love. After His baptism, Jesus went out to serve the people. This calling is for us too: At home: Show love to parents and children. In society: Support the broken and marginalized. At the workplace: Work with honesty and justice. In the Church: Be an active member.

Baptism also gives us new strength. In the Acts of the Apostles, it is written that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power. Similarly, at baptism, we too receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Why do we often grow weak in today’s challenges? Because we forget the power of the Spirit. We are not meant to walk alone, but to move forward with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Inspiration for today’s life: Recognize that you are a child of God. Accept that your life is not just for yourself, but also for others. Walk in the power of the Holy Spirit so that you may also become a source of hope and light for others.
