आज की दुनिया में लोग बहुत-सी चीज़ों की तलाश में हैं—पैसा, शक्ति, सम्मान, सुख-सुविधाएँ। लेकिन इसके बावजूद उनके दिलों में खालीपन रहता है। वे असली शांति और प्रेम की खोज में भटकते रहते हैं। आज के पाठ हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि सच्चा प्रेम और तृप्ति केवल ईश्वर में ही मिलती है। संत योहन कहते हैं—“ईश्वर प्रेम है।” ईश्वर ने अपने एकलौते पुत्र को भेजा ताकि हम जीवन प्राप्त करें। दुनिया का प्रेम अक्सर स्वार्थी होता है, लेकिन ईश्वर का प्रेम निस्वार्थ है। उसने हमारे लिए अपने पुत्र को क्रूस पर चढ़ाया, क्योंकि वह चाहता था कि हम पाप और मृत्यु से मुक्त होकर अनन्त जीवन पाएँ।

आज की दुनिया में सबसे बड़ी भूख है सच्चे प्रेम की भूख। ईश्वर हमें आज यही याद दिला रहे हैं: ईश्वर के प्रेम की पहचान इस में है कि पहले हमने ईश्वर को नहीं, बल्कि ईश्वर ने हम को प्यार किया और हमारे पापों के प्रायश्चित के लिए अपने पुत्र को भेजा। प्रश्न यह है कि क्या हम इस प्रेम को पहचानते हैं?

येसु ने भीड़ को देखा, वे भटकी हुई भेड़ों की तरह थीं। उन्होंने उन्हें न केवल आत्मिक भोजन दिया (शिक्षा दी), बल्कि उनकी शारीरिक भूख का भी ध्यान रखा। पाँच रोटियों और दो मछलियों से उन्होंने पाँच हज़ार से अधिक लोगों को तृप्त किया। यह केवल चमत्कार की कहानी नहीं है, बल्कि यह हमें सिखाती है कि जब हम थोड़ा भी ईश्वर को अर्पित करते हैं, वह उसे हज़ार गुना बढ़ा देता है। हमारे पास जो भी थोड़ा है—समय, सामर्थ्य, धन, सेवा, और प्रेम, यदि हम उसे ईश्वर को समर्पित करें, तो वह उसे बहुतायत में बढ़ा देता है। लोग भूखे हैं न केवल रोटी के लिए, बल्कि प्रेम, सहानुभूति और समझ के लिए।

जब हम निराश हों, तो प्रभु का यह वचन याद रखें: बच्चो! तुम ईश्वर के हो और तुमने उन लोगों पर विजय पायी है; क्योंकि जो तुम में हैं, वह उस से महान् हैं, जो संसार में है। (1 योहन 4:4)

ईश्वर का प्रेम हमें उठाता है, शक्ति देता है और बदल देता है। छोटे-छोटे कार्य भी, जब प्रेम से किए जाते हैं, महान बन जाते हैं। जैसे पाँच रोटियाँ और दो मछलियाँ हज़ारों को तृप्त कर गईं।

In today’s world, people are searching for many things—money, power, respect, comfort, and conveniences. Yet, despite all this, their hearts remain empty. They wander in search of true peace and love. Today’s readings remind us that true love and fulfilment are found only in God. Saint John says, “God is love.” God sent His only Son so that we may have life. The love of the world is often selfish, but God’s love is selfless. He offered His Son on the Cross so that we may be freed from sin and death and receive eternal life.

The greatest hunger in today’s world is a hunger for true love. God reminds us today that the proof of His love is that He loved us first—even before we loved Him—and sent His Son for the atonement of our sins. The question is: do we recognize this love?

Jesus saw the crowd—they were like sheep without a shepherd. He not only gave them spiritual nourishment through His teaching but also cared for their physical hunger. With five loaves and two fish, He fed over five thousand people. This is not just a story of a miracle; it teaches us that when we offer even a little to God, He multiplies it abundantly. Whatever we have—time, ability, money, service, love—if we dedicate it to God, He increases it manifold. People are hungry not just for bread, but for love, compassion, and understanding.

When we feel discouraged, remember: “Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

God’s love lifts us, strengthens us, and transforms us. Even small acts, when done with love, become great—just as five loaves and two fish satisfied thousands.
