आज कलीसिया 'प्रभु का प्रकाश पर्व' मनाती है। नबी इसायाह उद्घोषणा करते हैं, "उठो, आलोकित हो जाओ; क्योंकि तुम्हारा प्रकाश आ गया है" (इसायाह 60:1)। यह पर्व हमें याद दिलाता है कि मसीह केवल एक जाति या देश के लिए नहीं, बल्कि संपूर्ण मानवता के लिए मुक्ति का प्रकाश बनकर आए हैं।

ज्योतिषी (The Magi) उस तारे का पीछा करते हुए आए क्योंकि उन्होंने एक बुलाहट सुनी थी। सुसमाचार का आमंत्रण "आओ और देखो" (योहन 1:39) उनके जीवन में चरितार्थ हुआ। उन्होंने केवल राजा को नहीं खोजा, बल्कि सत्य को खोजा। इसी तरह संत एलिज़ाबेथ एन सेटन के जीवन में भी, जब उनके जीवन का सांसारिक सुख (उनके पति) उनसे छीन लिया गया, तो उन्होंने ईश्वर के प्रकाश की ओर कदम बढ़ाया। उन्होंने अंधेरे में हार नहीं मानी, बल्कि मसीह के आमंत्रण को स्वीकार किया।

सच्चा विश्वास 'सब कुछ जान लेने' में नहीं, बल्कि 'खोजते रहने' में है। ज्योतिषी सोने, लोबान और गंधरस के साथ आए, जो हमारे जीवन के प्रेम, आराधना और दुखों के प्रतीक हैं। आज का पर्व हमें चुनौती देता है: क्या हम अपने जीवन के 'हेरोद' (अहंकार और डर) को छोड़कर उस प्रकाश की ओर चलने का साहस रखते हैं? यदि हम विश्वास का एक छोटा कदम बढ़ाते हैं, तो प्रभु हमारे व्यक्तिगत अंधकार को मिशन की ज्योति में बदल देते हैं।

Today, the Church celebrates the Epiphany—the manifestation of God to all nations. Isaiah’s prophecy rings out: "Arise, shine; for your light has come" (Isaiah 60:1). The Magi were the first among the Gentiles to respond to the invitation to "Come and see" (John 1:39), following a star that led them beyond their comfort zones to the Truth in the manger.

This journey of the Magi finds a beautiful parallel in the life of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. When the "lights" of her worldly life faded through widowhood and loss, she did not stay in darkness. She sought the True Light in the Catholic faith. Her life teaches us that the invitation to "come and see" is often found in our moments of deepest seeking.

To follow Christ is to be a "seeker" of light in a world of shadows. The Magi offered gold, frankincense, and myrrh—gifts that represent our kingship, our worship, and our sufferings. Following Jesus does not require us to have all the answers beforehand; it only requires the courage to start the journey. Like Elizabeth Ann Seton, let us trust that when we offer our vulnerabilities to Him, He transfigures our pain into a divine mission and our weakness into a blessing for the world.
