आज हम दो महान संतों का स्मरण करते हैं—संत बासिल महान और संत ग्रेगरी नाज़ियानज़ेन जिन्होंने साहस और ज्ञान के साथ विश्वास की सच्चाई की रक्षा की। वचन कहता है, "जो पुत्र को अस्वीकार करता है, उस में पिता का निवास नहीं है। जो पुत्र को स्वीकार करता है, उस में पिता का निवास है" (1 योहन 2:23)।

इन संतों ने केवल वचनों से नहीं बल्कि अपने उपदेशों, लेखन और पवित्र जीवन से मसीह को स्वीकार किया। आज के समय में संसार भ्रम और झूठी शिक्षाओं से भरा हुआ है। सत्य से भटक जाना आसान है। लेकिन संत बासिल और ग्रेगरी हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि मसीह को स्वीकार करना साहस और स्पष्टता दोनों की मांग करता है।

सुसमाचार हमें योहन बपतिस्ता की ओर इंगित करता है, जो प्रभु का मार्ग तैयार करने की पुकार लगा रहे थे। इन्हीं की तरह इन संतों ने भी हमेशा मसीह की ओर इशारा करते हुए प्रभु का मार्ग तैयार किया। आज हमें बुलावा है कि हम केवल कलीसिया में ही नहीं बल्कि अपने दैनिक जीवन में भी मसीह को स्वीकार करें—ईमानदारी से, प्रेम से और प्रार्थना में स्थिर रहकर। आइए हम उनकी मध्यस्थता माँगें ताकि हम निष्ठावान साक्षी बनें और लोग हमारे वचनों और कर्मों में ईश्वर को पहचान सकें।

Today we honor two great saints of the Church—Basil the Great and Gregory Nazianzen who defended the truth of our faith with courage and wisdom. The Word of God tells us, “Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also” (1 John 2:23).

These saints gave their lives to confess Christ, not only with their words but through their teachings, writings, and holiness. In our time, the world is full of confusion, ideologies, and false teachings. It is easy to drift away from the truth. But the witness of Basil and Gregory reminds us that confessing Christ requires both courage and clarity.

The Gospel today presents John the Baptist, a voice crying out to prepare the way of the Lord. Like him, these saints prepared the way by pointing always to Christ. For us, the call is to confess Christ not only in Church but also in our daily lives—through integrity, through charity, and through fidelity to prayer. Let us ask their intercession to be faithful confessors of Christ, so that people may recognize God in our words and actions.
