नववर्ष की शुरुआत धन्य माता मरियम से होती है, जो ईश्वर की माता और हमारी माता हैं। सुसमाचार कहता है कि चरवाहों द्वारा सुनी हुई बातों की घोषणा करने के बाद, “मरियम इन सब बातों को अपने मन में संजोए रखती और उन पर विचार करती रहीं” (लूकस 2:19)। मरियम हमें शिष्यत्व का मार्ग दिखाती हैं—ईश्वर के वचन को सुनना, उसे संजोना और उस पर गहराई से चिंतन करना।

उन्होंने सब कुछ तुरंत नहीं समझा, परंतु विश्वास के साथ ईश्वर की योजना को पूर्ण होने दिया। इसी दिन कलीसिया हमें प्राचीन पुरोहिताई आशीष देती है: 'प्रभु तुम लोगों को आशीर्वाद प्रदान करे और सुरक्षित रखे' (गणना 6:24)।

जब हम नए वर्ष में प्रवेश करते हैं, हमें आमंत्रित किया जाता है कि हम अपने जीवन को मरियम के हाथों और ईश्वर की आशीष में सौंप दें। जिस संसार में सब कुछ बहुत तेज गति से होता है, मरियम हमें ठहरने, प्रार्थना करने और मनन करना सिखाती हैं। यदि हम वर्ष की शुरुआत उनके साथ करें, तो हम शांति, विनम्रता और ईश्वर की इच्छा को स्वीकार करना सीखेंगे। आइए मरियम के साथ चलें और विश्वास करें कि उनका पुत्र यीशु हमें इस वर्ष और आगे के दिनों में मार्गदर्शन देगा।

“Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart.” (Luke 2:19).

The New Year begins with the Blessed Mother, Mary, who is the Mother of God and our Mother. The Gospel tells us that after the shepherds announced what they had heard, “Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). Mary shows us the path of discipleship: listening to God’s Word, treasuring it, and reflecting on it deeply.

She did not fully understand everything at once, but she kept faith and allowed God’s plan to unfold. On this day, the Church blesses us with the ancient priestly blessing: “The Lord bless you and keep you” (Numbers 6:24).

As we step into a new year, we are invited to place our lives in Mary’s hands and God’s blessing. In a world that runs fast, Mary teaches us to pause, pray, and ponder. If we begin the year with her, we will learn to live with peace, humility, and openness to God’s will. Let us walk with Mary, trusting that her Son will guide our journey in 2026 and beyond.
