“समझौता: ईश्वर के लिए उत्तम भेंट”

हमारे ख्रीस्तीय जीवन की एक प्रमुख विशेषता है — प्रेम। ईश्वर के प्रति हमारा प्रेम हमें उसके साथ एक गहरे संबंध में बाँधता है, और हमारे भाई-बहनों के प्रति प्रेम हमारे आपसी संबंधों को पोषित करता है। वास्तव में, कोई व्यक्ति ईश्वर से कितना प्रेम करता है, यह इस बात से प्रकट होता है कि वह अपने पड़ोसी से कितना प्रेम करता है। चूंकि हम मनुष्य हैं, इसलिए यह स्वाभाविक है कि हम कभी-कभी एक-दूसरे से असहमति, निराशा और संघर्ष का सामना करते हैं। लेकिन यदि हम समय रहते इन बातों को सुलझाने का प्रयास नहीं करते, तो यह हमारे संबंधों में एक अमर्यादित और गहरा टूटाव ला सकता है।

प्रभु येसु आज के सुसमाचार में हमें मेल-मिलाप (Reconciliation) का सद्गुण सिखाते हैं। क्रोध, ईर्ष्या और अहंकार जैसी भावनाएँ हमें अपने झगड़े सुलझाने और दूसरों से मेल-मिलाप करने से रोकती हैं। परन्तु प्रभु येसु कहते हैं: “अपनी भेंट वहीं वेदी के सामने छोड़ कर पहले अपने भाई से मेल करने जाओ और तब आ कर अपनी भेंट चढ़ाओ।” (मत्ती 5:24) मेल-मिलाप का अर्थ है — टूटे हुए रिश्तों को फिर से स्थापित करना। प्रभु येसु इसे ईश्वर को चढ़ाई जाने वाली भेंट से भी अधिक महत्वपूर्ण मानते हैं।

सच्चा मेल-मिलाप विनम्रता तथा आत्म-त्याग की माँग करता है। जितना अधिक कोई अपने अहं को झुकाता है, उतना ही सरलता से वह अपने पड़ोसी के दिल जीत सकता है। वास्तव में, एक सच्चा मेल-मिलाप ही सबसे उत्तम भेंट बन जाती है जो हम ईश्वर को दे सकते हैं।

आइए, हम अपने भाई-बहनों से बेशर्त प्रेम करने का प्रयास करें, हर परिस्थिति में प्रेम, बातचीत और आपसी सम्मान के साथ अपने झगड़ों को सुलझाने की कोशिश करें। पवित्र आत्मा हमें प्रेरित करे और हमारा मार्गदर्शन करता रहे।

“RECONCILIATION: THE PERFECT OFFERING FOR GOD”

One of the characteristic marks of our Christian life is love. Our love towards God establishes a close bond with Him, and our love towards fellow brethren nourishes our relationship with others. In fact, one’s love for God is reflected in the way one loves his brothers and sisters. As humans, it is natural that we face disagreement, disappointment and conflicts with one another. But if we do not try to resolve them in a short time, it can create an unrepairable rupture in our relationships.

Lord Jesus in today’s Gospel teaches us the virtue of reconciliation. Anger, jealousy and ego are some emotions that hinder us from resolving conflicts and reconciling with others. Jesus says, “...first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.” (Mt. 5:24) Reconciling means to re-establish the broken relationship with others. It is given the utmost importance, even before offering a gift to God.

A genuine reconciliation demands humility and self-giving. The more one humbles oneself, the easier one can gain one’s neighbour. In fact, a true reconciliation would be a great offering that one can make to God.

Let us strive to love our brothers and sisters unconditionally in all circumstances and make efforts to resolve our conflicts with love, mutual talk and respect. May the Holy Spirit inspire us and guide us.
