“अपने प्रार्थना जीवन का अवलोकन करें”

ख्रीस्त में प्रिय विश्वासियो!

हम मनुष्य इस संसार में अपने जीवनयापन के लिए शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं। अपनी भावनाओं को शब्दों के माध्यम से व्यक्त करने की हमारी क्षमता हमें अन्य सभी प्राणियों से श्रेष्ठ बनाती है। हम अपने जीवन की परिस्थितियों के अनुसार विभिन्न तरीकों से शब्दों का इस्तेमाल करते हैं। शब्दों में सृजन करने और नष्ट करने की शक्ति होती है। कभी-कभी हम प्रार्थना में केवल दिखावे के लिए व्यर्थ वाक्य बोलते हैं या शब्दों का ढेर लगाते हैं, जिनका कोई वास्तविक अर्थ नहीं होता, ये केवल इसलिए होते हैं कि लोग हमारी प्रशंसा करें।

आज के सुसमाचार में प्रभु येसु हमें ऐसी मानसिकता के विरुद्ध चेतावनी देते हैं और हमें “हे हमारे पिता” की एक उत्तम प्रार्थना सिखाते हैं। सच्ची और वास्तविक प्रार्थना शब्दों की अम्बार पर निर्भर नहीं करती, बल्कि हमारे हृदय की सच्ची भावना पर आधारित होती है। प्रभु की प्रार्थना ऐसी प्रार्थना का आदर्श है, जो हमारे दैनिक जीवन की सभी आवश्यकताओं को समेटे हुए है। यह हमें यह अनुभव कराती है कि हम अपने उस पिता से वार्तालाप करते हैं जो हमारी आवश्यकताओं को जानता है और हममें यह विश्वास जगाता है कि वह हमारी ज़रूरतों की पूर्ति करता है।

पहले पाठ में भी नबी इसायाह यह बताते हैं कि ईश्वर का वचन अपना उद्देश्य पूरा किये बिना ईश्वर के पास वापस नहीं लोटता। ठीक उसी प्रकार हमारे द्वारा बोले गए प्रत्येक शब्द का भी एक उद्देश्य होता है, और इसलिए यह आवश्यक है कि हम अपने शब्दों के प्रति सजग रहें। हम अपनी प्रार्थना-जीवन का अवलोकन करें।

इस चालिसा काल में, आइए हम ईश्वर और दूसरों के साथ अपने व्यवहार में अपने मनोभावों का मूल्यांकन करने का प्रयास करें। हमारे शब्द ईश्वर की स्तुति का माध्यम और दूसरों के लिए जीवनदायक बनें, और हमारी प्रार्थनाएँ अनुग्रह के स्रोत बनें।

“LOOK INTO THY PRAYER TODAY”

My dear friends in Christ!

We humans make use of words for our sustenance in the world. Our ability to articulate our feelings through words gives us an upper hand among all other creatures in the world. We utter words that suit our life situations in very and many ways. Many a times we speak without realising the fact that words have power to create and to destroy as well. At times we are tempted to heap up empty phrases in our prayers without even truly meaning them, in order to be praised by others.

Lord Jesus in today’s Gospel reading warns us against such an attitude in prayer and teaches the ‘Our Father’ prayer. A true and genuine prayer does not depend on the amount of words that we articulate rather it lies in the right disposition of our hearts. The Lord’s prayer is a model of such prayer which contains all that we need for our daily life. It makes us feel that we converse with our own Father who knows our needs and that we are confident that he provides for us.

In the first reading also prophet Isaiah portrays the effectiveness of God’s Word that once it is uttered by God it returns to him only after achieving its purpose. So also, each word we utter has a purpose and so it is important that we need to be mindful of our words.

During this Lenten season, let us make efforts to evaluate our attitude in our dealing with God and others. Let our words become medium of praise for God and life for others, and our prayers become channels of Grace.
