“सच्चा भोजन और झूठे देवता”

आज के पहले पाठ में हम पढ़ते हैं कि राजा यरोबआम ने झूठी वेदियाँ बनाईं और लोगों को ईश्वर से भटका दिया (1 राजा 12:30)। उसे लगा कि वह लोगों की मदद कर रहा है, लेकिन सच में उसने उन्हें मूर्तियों और खालीपन की ओर धकेल दिया। इसके विपरीत, सुसमाचार हमें येसु को दिखाता है, जो भीड़ की भूख देखता है और सात रोटियों और कुछ मछलियों से उन्हें तृप्त करता है (मारकुस 8:6–8)। एक रास्ता खालीपन की ओर ले जाता है, दूसरा जीवन और खुशी की ओर।

आज हम भी उसी चुनाव का सामना करते हैं। सोशल मीडिया, ए.आई. और बदलते ट्रेंड्स कभी-कभी यरोबआम की उन वेदियों जैसे हो जाते हैं – चीजें जो हमें जोड़ने का वादा करती हैं, पर बिना ईश्वर के हमें खाली छोड़ देती हैं। हम लाइक्स के पीछे भागते हैं, अपना ध्यान दूसरों पर टिकाते हैं, या रिश्तों और सफलता को ही “देवता” बना लेते हैं। लेकिन हमारे दिल गहरी और सच्ची तृप्ति खोजते हैं।

येसु हमें दिखाते हैं कि केवल वही हमें भर सकते हैं। वे हमें त्वरित "लाइक्स" नहीं देते, बल्कि स्वयं को देते हैं – वह प्रेम जो कभी समाप्त नहीं होता, वह भोजन जो आत्मा को भरता है, वह आशा जो टिकती है। हमारी आत्माएँ मूर्तियों के लिए नहीं, बल्कि सच्चे प्रेम के लिए बनी हैं।

तो जब जीवन शोरगुल और बिखरा हुआ लगे, खुद से पूछें: क्या मैं झूठी वेदियों पर भोजन करता हूँ, या मसीह येसु पर, जो जीवन की रोटी हैं? केवल येसु ही हमारी भूख को सच में तृप्त करते हैं।

“True Food vs. Empty Idols”

In today’s first reading, King Jeroboam built false altars and led people away from God (1 Kings 12:30). He thought he was helping, but instead, he created confusion and idols that had no life. In contrast, the Gospel shows us Jesus, who sees a hungry crowd and feeds them with real bread – seven loaves and a few fish (Mark 8:6–8). One leads people into emptiness; the other gives life and joy.

Many of us today face the same choice. Social media, AI tools, and fast-changing trends can sometimes become like Jeroboam’s altars – distractions that promise connection but leave us empty if God is missing. We scroll for likes, chase attention, or even make “idols” out of relationships or success. Yet, deep down, we crave more than screens can give.

Jesus shows us that He alone can satisfy us. He doesn’t give us quick likes; He gives us Himself. The love that lasts, food that fills, hope that sustains. Gen-Z hearts are not made for idols but for real love.

So, when life feels scattered or noisy, ask: Am I feeding on false altars, or on Christ, the Bread of Life? Only Jesus truly fills our hunger.
