“संसार की ज्योति बनो”
प्रभु येसु हमें उस ज्योति को पहचानने के लिए आह्वान कर रहे हैं जो हममें विद्यमान है। प्रभु येसु स्वयं वह ज्योति हैं जो हम में वास करती है। संत योहन 8:12 में प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, “संसार की ज्योति मैं हूँ।” और संत मत्ती 5:14 में वे कहते हैं, “तुम संसार की ज्योति हो।” जब हम अपने कार्यों से दूसरों के लिए भलाई करते हैं, तब वह ज्योति हममें चमकती है और हम सचमुच उस ज्योति के वाहक बनते हैं।
जिस प्रकार दीपक अंधकार को मिटाकर दिशा और रास्ता दिखाता है, उसी प्रकार हमारा जीवन दूसरों के लिए आशा और मार्गदर्शन होना चाहिए। आज के पहले पाठ में नबी इसायाह हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि प्रकाश तभी प्रकट होता है जब हम भूखों को भोजन देते हैं, गरीबों के साथ बाँटते हैं और दुःखी को सहारा देते हैं। केवल प्रार्थना और धार्मिक अनुष्ठान ही पर्याप्त नहीं हैं; यदि हममें करुणा और सेवा का भाव नहीं है, तो हमारा विश्वास अधूरा रह जाता है।
आज हम एक ऐसे समाज में जी रहे हैं जहाँ झूठ, भ्रष्टाचार, हिंसा और स्वार्थ का अंधकार फैला हुआ है। कई लोग निराशा, अकेलेपन और चिंता में जी रहे हैं। इस संसार को आज सबसे अधिक आवश्यकता करुणामय ज्योति की है। क्या हम वह ज्योति बनते हैं जो स्वार्थ, उदासीनता और अन्याय के अंधकार को मिटा सके?
आइए, हम ईश्वर से कृपा माँगें कि हमारा जीवन ऐसा दीपक बने जो अंधकार में जलकर दूसरों के लिए मार्गदर्शन और आशा का स्रोत बने।
“Be the light of the world”
Today, the Lord Jesus calls us to recognize the light that is within us. He Himself is the true light who dwells in us. In John 8:12, Jesus says, “I am the light of the world.” And in Matthew 5:14, He tells His disciples, “You are the light of the world.” When, through our actions, we bring goodness into the lives of others, that light shines within us, and we truly become bearers of His light.
Just as a lamp drives out darkness and shows the way, so too our lives are meant to be a source of hope and guidance for others. In today’s first reading, the prophet Isaiah reminds us that our light shines when we share our bread with the hungry, support the poor, and bring comfort to the afflicted. Prayer and rituals alone are not enough; without compassion and service, our faith remains incomplete.
We live in a world overshadowed by lies, corruption, violence, and selfishness. Many people around us struggle with despair, loneliness, and anxiety. What the world needs most today is the light of compassion. The question is: are we willing to be that light—dispelling the darkness of selfishness, indifference, and injustice?
Let us pray for God’s grace, that our lives may be like lamps burning in the darkness, offering guidance and hope to all who seek it.
