“सत्य के लिए खड़े रहना”

आज प्रभु येसु हमें सत्य के लिए खड़े रहने के लिए आह्वान कर रहे हैं। आज प्रभु येसु हमसे केवल विश्वास नहीं, बल्कि साहस और सच्चाई से जीने के लिए कह रहे हैं। आज के पहले पाठ में हम राजा दाऊद के जीवन के बारे में पढ़ते हैं। दाऊद महान योद्धा और राजा थे, लेकिन उनकी सबसे बड़ी पहचान उनकी सच्चाई और नम्रता थी। उन्होंने पाप किया, लेकिन घमंड में नहीं जीए। उन्होंने ईश्वर के सामने अपने पापों को स्वीकार किया और पूरे हृदय से पश्चाताप किया।

आज के सुसमाचार में हम योहन बपतिस्ता के साहस को देखते हैं, जिसने राजा हेरोद के सामने भी सत्य बोलने से पीछे नहीं हटे। उन्हें पता था कि यह उनके जीवन के लिए खतरा हो सकता है, फिर भी उन्होंने समझौता नहीं किया। फलस्वरूप सत्य के लिए उन्हें अपनी जान गँवानी पड़ी। सत्य के लिए खड़ा होना हमेशा आसान नहीं होता, कई बार इसके लिए त्याग और बलिदान की आवश्यकता होती है।

आज हमारे समाज में भी सत्य के लिए खड़ा होना एक चुनौती है। जब हम दफ़्तर या कार्यस्थल में भ्रष्टाचार देखते हैं, जब परिवार और समाज में अन्याय देखते हैं, जब सोशल मीडिया पर झूठ को सच की तरह फैलते हुए देखते हैं, तब अक्सर हम चुप रह जाते हैं। ऐसा क्यों? क्योंकि हम डरते हैं। जब हम सत्य के लिए खड़े रहते हैं, तब हम केवल एक नैतिक सिद्धांत के लिए नहीं, बल्कि स्वयं प्रभु येसु के लिए खड़े रहते हैं। क्योंकि प्रभु येसु कहते हैं, “मैं मार्ग हूँ, सत्य हूँ और जीवन हूँ।”

आइए, हम ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करें कि हम हर परिस्थिति में सत्य के पक्ष में खड़े रह सकें।

“Standing for the truth”

Today, the Lord Jesus calls us to stand for the truth. He asks of us not only faith but also the courage to live truthfully.

In today’s first reading, we hear about the life of King David. David was a great warrior and king, but his greatest quality was his honesty and humility. Though he sinned, he did not live in pride. He acknowledged his sins before God and repented with all his heart.

In today’s Gospel, we see the courage of John the Baptist, who did not hesitate to speak the truth even before King Herod. He knew that doing so could cost him his life, yet he did not compromise. As a result, he gave his life for the sake of truth. Standing for truth is never easy—it often demands sacrifice and suffering.

In our society today, standing for truth is also a challenge. When we see corruption in our workplaces, injustice in our families and communities, or lies spreading like truth on social media, we often remain silent. Why? Because we are afraid. But when we stand for truth, we are not just standing for a moral principle—we are standing for the Lord Jesus Himself. For He says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.”

Let us pray that in every circumstance, we may have the strength to stand firmly on the side of truth.
