“Christ the Light: Purifying, Suffering, and Saving”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s readings converge on a powerful moment in salvation history: the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple. It is a moment of revelation and purification, of hope fulfilled and suffering foretold.

Christ comes not just as a baby in Mary’s arms, but as a purifier of hearts. His light reveals our darkness, and His mercy makes us new. He is the Saviour who walks with us in our suffering.

Are we ready to be refined like silver? Are we watching, like Simeon and Anna, for the quiet arrival of salvation in our everyday lives? Today, let us welcome Christ into the depths of our hearts as the Light who purifies, suffers with us, and saves us.
