“धन्य हैं नम्र : ईश्वर का मार्ग संसार के मार्ग से भिन्न है”

येसु ख्रीस्त में प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज के पाठ हमें एक ऐसी गहरी सच्चाई सिखाते हैं जो संसार के मूल्यों के एकदम विपरीत है: ईश्वर नम्र, दीन और भूले-बिसरे लोगों को चुनते हैं और उन्हें धन्य कहते हैं।

सुसमाचार में, येसु पर्वत प्रवचन की शुरुआत धन्य वचनों से करते हैं। वे कहते हैं, “धन्य हैं वे जो आत्मिक रूप से गरीब हैं… जो नम्र हैं… जो धर्म के कारण सताए जाते हैं”। ये वे लोग नहीं हैं जिन्हें दुनिया आमतौर पर सम्मान देती है। दुनिया अमीरों और ताक़तवरों की प्रशंसा करती है, लेकिन येसु इस सोच को पूरी तरह उलट देते हैं।

संत पौलुस हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि ईश्वर मानवीय महानता के आधार पर नहीं चुनते। वे उन्हें चुनते हैं जो पूरी तरह उस पर निर्भर रहना चाहते हैं। जहाँ संसार कहता है, "मज़बूत बनो और नियंत्रण रखो," वहीं ईश्वर कहते हैं, "नम्र बनो, और मैं तुम्हें ऊपर उठाऊँगा।"

दीन-हीन बनकर जीना आसान नहीं है; इसका अर्थ है दूसरों को पहले रखना और अपनी खुशी ईश्वर में खोजना। इसलिए आज, यदि हम स्वयं को दुर्बल समझते हैं, तो निराश न हों। ईश्वर के हाथों में, सबसे छोटा और विनम्र हृदय भी स्वर्ग की ज्योति से चमक सकता है।

“Blessed Are the Lowly: God’s Way Is Not the World’s Way”

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today’s readings offer us a powerful truth that runs counter to the values of the world: God chooses the lowly, the humble, and the forgotten and calls them blessed.

In the Gospel, Jesus begins His Sermon on the Mount with the Beatitudes. He says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit… blessed are the meek… blessed are those who are persecuted.” These are not the people the world typically admires. The world praises the wealthy and the powerful, but Jesus turns that thinking upside down.

St. Paul reminds us: “God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise.” God doesn't choose based on human greatness but looks for those willing to rely completely on Him. Where the world says, “Be strong, take control,” God says, “Be humble, and I will lift you up.”

To live the Beatitudes means putting others first, forgiving enemies, and finding joy in God rather than worldly success. Let us not be discouraged if we feel weak or small. In God's hands, even the lowliest soul can shine with the light of heaven.
