येसु ख्रीस्त में प्रिये भाइयो और बहनों, आज का पहला पाठ हमें प्रभु की उस महान प्रतिज्ञा की याद दिलाता है जो उन्होंने अपने लोगों को दी थी। आहाज राजा के समय, जब लोग डर और असुरक्षा में जी रहे थे, प्रभु ने एक महान चिन्ह देने का वादा किया: “देखो, एक कुँवारी गर्भवती होगी, पुत्र प्रसव करेगी और उसका नाम इम्मानुएल रखेगी।” इसका अर्थ है, ईश्वर हमारे साथ है। यह प्रतिज्ञा उस समय लोगों को आशा और सांत्वना देने के लिए थी, और यह प्रतिज्ञा येसु ख्रीस्त के जन्म में पूरी होती है, जैसे कि आज के सुसमाचार में हम पाते हैं। कुँवारी मरियम के गर्भ से येसु का जन्म हुआ।

यूसुफ इस स्थिति को समझ नहीं पा रहे थे और चुपचाप से मरियम को छोड़ देना चाहते थे, लेकिन स्वर्गदूत उन्हें स्वप्न में दर्शन देकर समझाते हैं कि यह सब ईश्वर की योजना है। इस बालक का जन्म ईश्वर की इच्छा से हुआ है और उसका नाम "येसु" रखा जाएगा, क्योंकि वह अपने लोगों को उनके पापों से मुक्त करेगा।

इन दोनों पाठों से हमें यह संदेश मिलता है कि ईश्वर अपने लोगों को कभी नहीं छोड़ते। चाहे परिस्थिति कितनी भी कठिन क्यों न हो, ईश्वर अपने वचन और अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के प्रति सदा विश्वसनीय हैं। आज हमारे जीवन में भी जब हम निराशा, कठिनाई, बीमारी या संकटों का सामना करते हैं, तब हमें यह स्मरण रखना चाहिए कि प्रभु इम्मानुएल हैं—वे हमारे साथ हैं। वे हमें अकेला नहीं छोड़ते। तो आइए हम यूसुफ की तरह विश्वास और आज्ञाकारिता से ईश्वर की योजना को स्वीकार करें।

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, Today’s first reading reminds us of the great promise the Lord gave to His people. During the time of King Ahaz, when the people were living in fear and insecurity, the Lord promised to give a great sign, “Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel," which means, God is with us. This promise was meant to give hope and comfort to the people of that time, and it is fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ, as we see in today’s Gospel. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary.

Joseph, unable to understand this situation, planned to quietly separate from Mary. But the angel appeared to him in a dream and explained that all of this was part of God’s plan. This child was conceived by the will of God, and He is to be named “Jesus,” for He will save His people from their sins.

From both readings, we receive this message: God never abandons His people. No matter how difficult the situation, God is always faithful to His word and promises. Even today, when we face despair, difficulties, illness, or crises in our lives, we must remember that the Lord is Emmanuel God with us. He never leaves us alone. So, let us, like Joseph, accept God’s plan with faith and obedience.
