येसु ख्रीस्त में प्रिये भाइयो और बहनों, आज का पहला पाठ हमें प्रभु की उस प्रतिज्ञा की याद दिलाता है जिसमें उन्होंने अपने लोगों के लिए एक महान चिन्ह देने की बात कही थी “देखो, एक कुवांरी गर्भवती होगी, पुत्र प्रसव करेंगी और उसका नाम ईसा रखेंगी।” यह प्रतिज्ञा इस बात की साक्षी है कि ईश्वर अपने लोगों के साथ हैं और कभी उन्हें अकेला नहीं छोड़ते। यह भविष्यवाणी एक आशा और भरोसे का संदेश है, चाहे परिस्थिति कितनी भी कठिन क्यों न हो, ईश्वर हमेशा अपने लोगों को छुड़ाने और मार्गदर्शन देने के लिए उपस्थित रहते हैं।

सुसमाचार में वही चिन्ह वास्तविकता बनकर सामने आता है। स्वर्गदूत गब्रिएल मरियम के पास यह शुभ समाचार लेकर आता है कि वह पवित्र आत्मा की शक्ति से गर्भवती होगी और पुत्र प्रसव करेंगी। उस पुत्र का नाम येसु रखा जाएगा, जो दाऊद के सिंहासन पर सदा राज्य करेगा और जिसका राज्य कभी समाप्त नहीं होगा। यहाँ ईश्वर का वचन न केवल प्रतिज्ञा है, बल्कि उसके पूरे होने का प्रमाण भी है।

दोनों पाठों के द्वारा हमें यह सन्देश मिलता है कि ईश्वर अपनी प्रतिज्ञाओं को कभी अधूरा नहीं छोड़ता। वह समय पर उन्हें पूरा करता है। जब हमारे जीवन में कठिनाइयाँ, डर और संकोच आते हैं, तब मरियम की तरह हम ईश्वर की इच्छा को स्वीकार कर “हाँ” कहें ताकि उसका वचन हमारे जीवन में फलता-फूलता जाए।

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, Today’s first reading reminds us of the Lord’s promise to give a great sign to his people "Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel." This promise is a witness to the truth that God is with His people and never abandons them. This prophecy is a message of hope and trust that no matter how difficult the circumstances, God is always present to deliver and guide His people.

In the Gospel, this very sign becomes a reality. The angel Gabriel comes to Mary with the Good News that she will conceive by the power of the Holy Spirit and bear a son. This son will be named Jesus, who will reign forever on David’s throne, and His kingdom will never end. Here, God's word is not just a promise it is a testimony to its fulfilment.

Through both readings, we receive the message that God never leaves His promises unfulfilled. He fulfils them in His perfect time. When we face difficulties, fears, and doubts in life, we are called to respond like Mary with a willing “yes” to God’s will so that His word may take root and bear fruit in our lives.
