येसु ख्रीस्त में प्रिये भाइयो और बहनों, आज के पहले पाठ में हमने सुना कि मनोअह और उसकी पत्नी के जीवन में संतान न होने की निराशा थी। ऐसे समय में प्रभु का दूत उनके पास आया और उन्हें पुत्र के जन्म का सन्देश दिया। वह पुत्र सामसन था, जिसे ईश्वर ने जन्म से ही एक विशेष बुलाहट दी थी कि वह इस्राएलियों को फिलिस्तियों से मुक्त करेगा। इस बच्चे को ईश्वर की ओर से विशेष आशीर्वाद और शक्ति मिली थी, और उसका जीवन ईश्वर के मिशन के लिए समर्पित था।

सुसमाचार में हम उसी प्रकार की घटना देखते हैं। यहाँ जकर्याह और एलिजबेथ, जो वृद्ध और निसंतान थे, उन्हें भी ईश्वर के दूत द्वारा पुत्र का सन्देश मिला। वह पुत्र योहन बपतिस्ता था, जो येसु मसीह का मार्ग तैयार करेगा। दोनों घटनाओं में समानता यह है कि संतानहीनता और निराशा के बीच ईश्वर ने अपनी प्रतिज्ञा और बुलाहट को प्रकट किया।

हमारे जीवन में भी कई बार कठिनाइयाँ, असफलताएँ, और निराशा के क्षण आते हैं। परन्तु जब हम प्रभु पर भरोसा करते हैं तो वे अपने समय पर अपनी योजना प्रकट करते हैं। प्रभु हमसे विश्वास की अपेक्षा करते हैं, संदेह की नहीं। जैसे जकर्याह को मौन रहकर ईश्वर की योजना को स्वीकारना पड़ा, वैसे ही हमें भी मौन और धैर्य में प्रभु की इच्छा को समझना और स्वीकारना चाहिए।

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, in today’s first reading, we heard about the disappointment in the lives of Manoah and his wife due to their inability to have children. At such a time, the angel of the Lord appeared to them and announced the birth of a son. That son was Samson, who was given a special calling by God from birth to deliver the Israelites from the Philistines. This child received special blessings and strength from God, and his life was dedicated to God's mission.

In the Gospel, we see a similar event. Here, Zechariah and Elizabeth, who were elderly and childless, also received the message of a son from God’s angel. That son was John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for the Messiah. The common thread in both stories is that in the midst of barrenness and despair, God revealed His promise and calling.

In our own lives too, we often face difficulties, failures, and moments of hopelessness. But when we trust in the Lord, He reveals His plan at the right time. The Lord expects faith from us, not doubt. Just as Zechariah had to accept God's plan in silence, we too must understand and accept the Lord's will with silence and patience.
