प्रिय मित्रों, योहन जिसने मत्ती 3:13-17 में प्रभु येसु से कहा था, "मुझे तो आप से बपतिस्मा लेने की ज़रूरत है और आप मेरे पास आते हैं?" और उसने देखा कि पवित्र आत्मा येसु पर उतर रहा है। आज के सुसमाचार में, योहन अपने शिष्यों को येसु के पास भेजता है और पूछता है, "क्या आप वही हैं, या हमें किसी और का इंतजार करना चाहिए?" यह सवाल शंका और उम्मीद दोनों को दर्शाता है।

येसु केवल शब्दों से नहीं, बल्कि अपने कार्यों से जवाब देते हैं। बीमारों को चंगा करना, अंधों को दृष्टि देना, पददलितों को आज़ाद करना, और गरीबों के लिए शुभ समाचार लाना। वे योहन के शिष्यों से कहते हैं, "जाओ और योहन को बताओ जो तुम सुनते और देखते हो।" यह हमें याद दिलाता है कि हमारे कर्म ही हमारे विश्वास को दिखाते हैं, न कि केवल शब्द।

अपने सेवाकार्य के दौरान, येसु अक्सर चंगा हुए लोगों से चुप रहने को कहते थे, पर उनकी दया और चमत्कार छिप नहीं सकते थे। इसी तरह, हमारे विश्वास को हमारे कर्मों में दिखना चाहिए। याकूब हमें स्पष्ट रूप से कहते हैं, "कर्मों के अभाव में विश्वास निर्जीव है" (याकूब 2:26)

हमें खुद से पूछना चाहिए:
· क्या मेरे कार्य मेरे विश्वास को दर्शाते हैं?
· क्या लोग मेरे कामों के जरिए ईश्वर की मौजूदगी महसूस करते हैं?

नबी इसायाह एक सुंदर वादा देते हैं: "तब अन्धों की आँखें देखने और बहरों के कान सुनने लगेंगे। लँगड़ा हरिण की तरह छलाँग भरेगा। और गूँगे की जीभ आनन्द का गीत गायेगी।" ईश्वर हमेशा काम कर रहे हैं, दुख को आनंद में बदल रहे हैं। इस्राएल के उद्धार से लेकर मसीह के बलिदान के द्वारा हमारी मुक्ति तक, ईश्वर की योजना हमें स्थायी खुशी की ओर ले जाती है।

जब हम आगमन के तीसरे सप्ताह में प्रवेश कर रहे हैं, जो कि बच्चे येसु के आने की खुशहाल प्रतीक्षा का समय है, तो आइए हम धैर्य और आशा का अभ्यास करें, जैसे किसान फसल के इंतजार में रहते हैं। आइए हमारे शब्द और कर्म ईश्वर के प्रेम और कृपा में निहित हों, और हम जो कुछ भी करें उसमें उनकी दया झलके।

Dear Friends, John the Baptist, who said in Matthew 3:13-17, “I need to be baptized by you,” witnessed the Holy Spirit descend upon Jesus. In today’s Gospel, John sends his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the one, or should we wait for someone else?” This question reflects a moment of doubt and expectation.

Jesus responds not with words alone, but by pointing to His works: healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, freeing those oppressed, and proclaiming good news to the poor. He tells John’s disciples, “Go and report to John what you hear and see.” This reminds us that actions reveal who we truly are and our words must be backed by deeds.

Throughout His ministry, Jesus often asked those He healed to keep it quiet, yet His compassion and miracles could not be hidden. Similarly, our faith must be visible in our actions. James reminds us clearly, “Faith without works is dead.” (James 2:26)

We need to ask ourselves: Do my actions reflect my faith? Do people recognize God’s presence in my life through what I do?

The prophet Isaiah offers a beautiful promise: “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, the ears of the deaf unstopped, the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the speechless will sing for joy.” God is always at work, transforming suffering into joy. From the redemption of Israel to our salvation through Christ’s sacrifice, God’s plan leads us toward lasting joy.

As we enter the third week of Advent, a time of joyful expectation for the coming of the Child Jesus, let us practice patience and hope like farmers waiting for the harvest. Let us allow our words and actions to be rooted in God’s love and grace, reflecting His mercy in all we do.
