प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज की दुनिया में लोग महानता को धन, पद या प्रतिष्ठा से मापते हैं जैसे बड़ी गाड़ियाँ, आलीशान घर या समाज में प्रभाव। लेकिन क्या यह सब ईश्वर के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है? ईश्वर की दृष्टि में सच्ची महानता क्या है?

आज के सुसमाचार में येसु योहन बपतिस्ता को “स्त्रियों में जन्मे लोगों में सबसे बड़ा” कहते हैं। फिर भी वह जोड़ते हैं, "स्वर्ग के राज्य में सबसे छोटा भी उससे बड़ा है।"

योहन की महानता इस बात में थी कि वह मसीह के आने का मार्ग तैयार कर रहे थे। इसायाह की भविष्यवाणी (40:3) के अनुसार: “निर्जन प्रदेश में प्रभु का मार्ग तैयार करो। हमारे ईश्वर के लिए मैदान में रास्ता सीधा कर दो।” योहन ने यह कार्य ईमानदारी और बलिदान के साथ किया, लेकिन वे ईश्वर के राज्य की पूर्णता को देखने से पहले ही शहीद हो गए।

वास्तविक महानता उन लोगों में है जिन्होंने येसु को पहचाना, उन पर विश्वास किया और उनके पुनरुत्थान के बाद उनके राज्य में प्रवेश किया। जैसे क्रूस पर वह रोमी सैनिक जिसने कहा: "निश्चय ही यह ईश्वर का पुत्र था।"

स्वर्ग के राज्य में प्रवेश आसान नहीं है। यह त्याग, बलिदान, अपमान सहने और अपने क्रूस को उठाने की मांग करता है।

आज हम विचार करें:
· क्या मैं सच्ची महानता को पहचानता हूँ?
· क्या मैं येसु के मार्ग पर चलने को तैयार हूँ?

प्रभु हमें सामर्थ्य दें कि हम दुनिया की झूठी महानता को त्यागकर ईश्वर की दृष्टि में महान बनने का प्रयास करें।

Dear Friends, in our world, people often measure greatness by wealth, status, or possessions such as big houses, expensive cars, or social influence. But does any of this matter to God? What does greatness truly mean in His eyes?

Today’s Gospel reminds us that John the Baptist is called the greatest born of women. Yet Jesus says that “the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” John’s greatness lay in his role as the forerunner, preparing the way for the coming of God’s kingdom, as Isaiah prophesied: “A voice cries out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord.” John saw a glimpse of this kingdom before his death, but he did not fully witness it.

The true greatness comes from experiencing and living in the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ. The people who encountered Jesus during His ministry and especially after His resurrection who stood in this greatness. Their faith made them greater, not by their own merit, but by what Christ has done for them. Even the Roman centurion at the cross recognized this, declaring, “Truly, this man was God’s Son.”

Entering the kingdom of heaven is not easy. It demands sacrifice, carrying our crosses, enduring hardships, and sometimes facing insults. But it is a journey worth striving for. Let us reflect on what true greatness means and commit ourselves to follow Jesus faithfully, so we may enter the kingdom He came to establish. May God strengthen us on this journey.
