प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों, आज हम संत फ्राँसिस जेवियर के पर्व पर प्रभु के वचनों पर मनन चिंतन करते हैं। आज पहले पाठ इसायाह 52:7–10 में हम पढ़ते हैं—“जो शांति घोषित करता है, सुसमाचार सुनाता है, कल्याण का संदेश लाता है,” यह वचन संत फ्राँसिस जेवियर जैसे महापुरुष में पूरी होती है, जिन्होंने संसार के कोने-कोने में जाकर सुसमाचार का प्रचार किया। संत पौलुस भी (1 कुरिन्थियों 9:16–19, 22–23) में कहते हैं—“धिक्कार मुझे यदि मैं सुसमाचार का प्रचार न करूँ” इस वचन से हम सीखते हैं कि प्रचार केवल संतों का कार्य नहीं बल्कि हम सबका उत्तरदायित्व है।

आज का सुसमाचार (मारकुस 16:15–20) सीधे हमें प्रभु येसु की आज्ञा की याद दिलाता है—“सारी सृष्टि को सुसमाचार सुनाओ।” संत फ्राँसिस जेवियर ने इस वचन को अपने जीवन में उतारा। उन्होंने भारत, श्रीलंका, मलक्का और जापान तक जाकर हजारों आत्माओं को विश्वास में लाया। उनका जीवन हमें प्रेरित करता है कि हम भी अपने परिवार, समाज और कार्यस्थल में अपने जीवन और शब्दों के द्वारा प्रभु का सुसमाचार फैलाएँ। इस पर्व पर हम सभी प्रार्थना करें कि हम भी पवित्र आत्मा की शक्ति से भरकर, संत फ्राँसिस जेवियर की तरह विश्वास, साहस और निःस्वार्थ प्रेम से मिशनरी जीवन जी सकें।

My dear brothers and sisters, today as we celebrate the feast of St. Francis Xavier, the Word of God invites us to reflect on our missionary call. The first reading (Isaiah 52:7–10) proclaims “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the one who brings good news, announcing peace and salvation.” This prophecy comes alive in the life of St. Francis Xavier, who carried the Gospel to distant lands. St. Paul reminds us in (1 Corinthians 9:16–19, 22–23) “Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!” reminding us that evangelization is not an option but a responsibility for every Christian.

The Gospel (Mark 16:15–20) gives us the Lord’s command: “Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” St. Francis Xavier lived this command wholeheartedly, traveling through India, Sri Lanka, Malacca, and Japan, bringing countless people to the faith. His life inspires us to be missionaries in our own families, workplaces, and communities—by our words as well as by the witness of our lives. On this feast, let us pray for the grace to live with the same zeal, courage, and love as St. Francis Xavier, so that through us, Christ’s light may shine to the ends of the earth.
