“जीवन का भोजन”
आज के सुसमाचार में यहूदी आपस में यह कहते हुए वाद-विवाद करते हैं, “यह हमें खाने के लिए अपना मांस कैसे दे सकता है?” वे यह इसलिए सोचते थे क्योंकि वे येसु की शिक्षा को समझने में कठिनाई महसूस कर रहे थे। लेकिन येसु पीछे नहीं हटते, बल्कि और स्पष्ट होकर कहते हैं, “यदि तुम मानव पुत्र का मांस नहीं खाओगे और उसका रक्त नहीं पियोगे, तो तुम्हें जीवन प्राप्त नहीं होगा।”
प्रभु येसु केवल किसी प्रतीक की बात नहीं करते, बल्कि स्वयं अपना शरीर और रक्त हमारे लिए खाने और पीने के लिए देते हैं। जैसे हमारा प्रतिदिन का भोजन हमारे शरीर को जीवित रखता है, वैसे ही प्रभु का शरीर और रक्त हमारी आत्मा को जीवन देता है। वह जीवन जो हमें अनन्त ईश्वरीय प्रेम में बनाए रखता है और प्रभु के साथ बने रहने का साहस प्रदान करता है।
जब हम परिवार के रूप में एक साथ भोजन करते हैं, तो भोजन केवल भोजन नहीं रह जाता, बल्कि प्रेम और एकता का चिन्ह बन जाता है। उसी प्रकार जब हम प्रभु के शरीर और रक्त को ग्रहण करते हैं, तब हम न केवल प्रभु से, बल्कि एक-दूसरे से भी गहरे रूप से जुड़ जाते हैं।
जीवन में जब हम थके हुए, कमजोर या आध्यात्मिक रूप से खाली महसूस करते हैं, तब पवित्र यूखारिस्त हमारे लिए शक्ति का स्रोत बन जाती है। संतों ने कहा है, “यूखारिस्त के बिना हम जीवित नहीं रह सकते।” क्योंकि इसमें प्रभु येसु केवल अपनी आशीष नहीं देते, बल्कि स्वयं को हमें अर्पित करते हैं।
इसलिए हमें याद रखना चाहिए कि पवित्र मिस्सा में जो रोटी हम ग्रहण करते हैं, वह साधारण रोटी नहीं है। वह जीवित मसीह हैं, जो हमें अनन्त जीवन से भर देते हैं। और यदि हम सचमुच विश्वास करते हैं, तो हमें वही बनना चाहिए जो हम ग्रहण करते हैं — इस संसार में मसीह की उपस्थिति, जो प्रेम, दया और करुणा के द्वारा दूसरों को पोषित करती है। जब हम प्रभु के शरीर और रक्त को ग्रहण करते हैं, तब उनका प्रेम, उनकी दया और उनका आत्मा हमारे भीतर निवास करता है।
“The Food of Eternal Life”
In today’s Gospel, the Jews argued among themselves: “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” They found it difficult to understand the teaching of Jesus. Yet Jesus did not withdraw His words; instead, He spoke even more clearly: “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.”
Jesus is not speaking merely about a symbol. He truly gives His Body and Blood for us to eat and drink. Just as daily food sustains our physical life, the Body and Blood of Christ nourish our souls and fill us with divine life. This heavenly food keeps us united with God and strengthens us to remain faithful to Him.
When a family gathers around a meal, food becomes more than nourishment; it becomes a sign of love, communion, and unity. In the same way, when we receive the Holy Eucharist, we are united not only with Christ but also with one another as members of His Body.
In moments when we feel tired, weak, or spiritually empty, the Eucharist becomes our source of strength and hope. The saints often said, “Without the Eucharist, we cannot live,” because in it Jesus gives us not merely His blessings but His very self.
Therefore, we must remember that the bread we receive at Holy Mass is not ordinary bread. It is the living Christ who fills us with eternal life. If we truly believe this, then we must become what we receive — the presence of Christ in the world, bringing love, mercy, and compassion to others. When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, His love, His mercy, and His Spirit dwell within us.
