“प्रकाश को चुनें, मसीह को चुनें”
आज का सुसमाचार हमें ईश्वरीय प्रेम को जानने और समझने का संदेश देता है। जैसा कि वचन कहता है, “ईश्वर ने संसार को इतना प्यार किया कि उसने उसके लिए अपने एकलौते पुत्र को अर्पित कर दिया, जिससे जो उसमें विश्वास करता है, सर्वनाश न हो बल्कि अनन्त जीवन प्राप्त करे।” यह एक वचन हमें बताता है कि ईश्वर कौन हैं और वे हमसे किस प्रकार संबंध रखते हैं। उनका प्रेम असीम, पूर्ण और हम सभी के लिए अर्पित किया गया प्रेम है।
प्रभु येसु संसार में न्याय करने या दण्ड देने नहीं आए, बल्कि उद्धार करने, चंगा करने, हमें पापों से बचाने और नया जीवन देने आए। अक्सर हम ईश्वर को ऐसा मानते हैं मानो वे दण्ड देने के लिए तत्पर हों, लेकिन हमारे ईश्वर की सबसे गहरी इच्छा यह है कि हम पापों से दूर रहें। उद्धार का अर्थ केवल दण्ड से बचना नहीं, बल्कि उस परिपूर्ण जीवन को प्राप्त करना है जो केवल ईश्वर ही दे सकते हैं।
संत योहन हमें याद दिलाते हैं कि प्रकाश और अंधकार दोनों हमारे सामने हैं। अंधकार हमें ईश्वर से दूर करता है, जबकि मसीह वह प्रकाश हैं जो चमकता है और हमें अपने सानिध्य में बुलाता है। कुछ लोग अंधकार में रहना चाहते हैं क्योंकि उनके कर्म सत्य के प्रकाश में टिक नहीं पाते। अंधकार कभी-कभी सुरक्षित प्रतीत हो सकता है, परन्तु वास्तव में वह हमें बाँध देता है और ईश्वर से दूर ले जाता है। इसलिए हमें सदैव ईश्वर के दिए हुए प्रकाश में चलना चाहिए, ताकि हम स्वयं भी चमकें और दूसरों के लिए भी प्रकाश बनें।
प्रत्येक दिन हमारे सामने यह चुनाव होता है कि हम प्रकाश में जीवन बिताएँ या अंधकार में बने रहें। मसीह में विश्वास करना केवल प्रकाश को स्वीकार करना नहीं, बल्कि अपने जीवन को उनके हाथों में सौंप देना है। इसका अर्थ है उनकी प्रेममयी शिक्षा को अपने विचारों, कर्मों और संबंधों का मार्गदर्शक बनने देना तथा उनके दिखाए मार्ग पर चलना।
ईश्वर का प्रेम पहले ही दिया जा चुका है, उद्धार पहले ही प्रदान किया जा चुका है और प्रकाश पहले ही संसार में आ चुका है। अब केवल हमारे उत्तर की आवश्यकता है। यदि हम प्रकाश को चुनते हैं, तो हम अनुभव करेंगे कि मसीह में अनन्त प्रेम है, मसीह में अनन्त जीवन है और मसीह में ही सब कुछ है।
“Choose the Light, Choose Christ”
Today’s Gospel gives us the message to know and understand God’s divine love. As the Word says, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him may not perish but may have eternal life.” This one verse tells us who God is and how He relates with us. His love is not measurable but complete, offered for all of us.
Jesus did not come into the world to judge or condemn, but to save, to heal, to rescue us from sin, and to give us new life. Often, we think of God as someone ready to punish, but God’s deepest desire is that we stay away from sin. Salvation does not mean merely being saved from punishment, but receiving that fullness of life which only God can give.
St. John reminds us that both light and darkness are before us. Darkness takes us away from God, while Christ is the light that shines and calls us into His presence. Some prefer darkness because their deeds cannot stand in the light of truth. Darkness may sometimes seem safe to us, but in reality, it binds us and takes us away from God. We must always remain in the light given by God, where we can shine and provide light for others.
Therefore, every day we face this choice: whether to live in the light or remain in darkness. To believe in Christ is not only to shine, but to surrender our lives into His hands, to let His loving teaching guide our thoughts, actions, and relationships, and to walk the path He shows us.
God’s love has already been given, salvation has already been provided, and the light has already come. What remains is our response. If we choose the light, we will know that in Christ there is eternal love, eternal life, and everything.
