“लालच से सावधान, मसीह के प्रेम में स्थिर रहें”

सृष्टि के प्रारंभ से ही मानव की यह प्रवृत्ति रही है कि वह अच्छाई को छोड़कर बुराई का साथ देता है। येसु मसीह, जो संसार में आकर स्वयं को मार्ग, सत्य और जीवन कहते हैं, उन्होंने मानव को सत्य के मार्ग पर चलना सिखाया। फिर भी बहुतों ने उन्हें पहचानने से इंकार कर दिया।

लालच ने मानव को इस हद तक जकड़ लिया है कि वह धन कमाने की चाह में अपने ही भाई को भूल जाता है। आज संसार में धन, प्रतिष्ठा और शक्ति प्राप्त करने की होड़ लगी हुई है। ऐसे समय में धार्मिकता और ईश्वर की खोज पीछे छूटती जा रही है।

इसी कारण यूदस इस्कारियोती अपने जीवनदाता प्रभु को पहचानने में असफल रहा और कुछ चाँदी के सिक्कों के लिए उन्हें बेच दिया। फिर भी येसु का प्रेम उसके लिए कम नहीं हुआ। यह जानते हुए भी कि कौन उन्हें धोखा देगा, उन्होंने अपने विश्वासघाती को अपने हाथों से भोजन कराया और अपने प्रेम की पराकाष्ठा प्रकट की।

मसीह हमें अपने शत्रुओं से प्रेम करना और उनके लिए प्रार्थना करना सिखाते हैं। उनका जीवन हमें सिखाता है कि प्रेम विश्वासघात से भी बड़ा होता है और दया न्याय से अधिक प्रभावशाली हो सकती है।

आइए हम अपने जीवन की जाँच करें। क्या हम धन, सुख-सुविधाओं और सांसारिक आकर्षणों में इतने उलझ गए हैं कि प्रभु हमारे जीवन का सबसे बड़ा खजाना नहीं रहे? क्या हम अपने जीवन, व्यवहार और निर्णयों द्वारा प्रभु के प्रति विश्वासयोग्य बने हुए हैं?

इस पवित्र सप्ताह में हम यूदस की भूलों से सीखें और प्रभु येसु के प्रेम, निष्ठा और समर्पण का अनुसरण करें।

“Guarding Our Hearts Against Avarice”

On this Wednesday of Holy Week, we reflect on the tragic downfall of Judas Iscariot. One of the greatest dangers in life is the misuse of money and the attraction to worldly wealth. As the Lord reminds us, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mt 6:21).

Judas allowed greed to take root in his heart. Though he lived closely with Jesus, witnessed His miracles, and listened to His teachings, he gradually became more attached to money than to his Master. In the end, he agreed to betray Jesus for a few silver coins.

Yet what is remarkable is that Jesus never stopped loving Judas. Even knowing that Judas would betray Him, Jesus shared His table with him and offered him friendship until the very end. Such is the depth of Christ’s love and mercy.

Today we are invited to examine our own hearts. Are we becoming too attached to worldly pleasures, riches, power, talents, or personal achievements? Have these things begun to replace God as the true treasure of our lives?

Another important lesson comes from the fact that Judas was an insider. Among all who followed Jesus, the Twelve were chosen to be closest to Him. Yet the greatest betrayal came from within that inner circle.

As members of the Church, we too must ask ourselves: Am I betraying the Lord through a lukewarm faith, a scandalous lifestyle, or indifference toward His call? Do I truly strive to live as a faithful disciple?

As we continue our journey through Holy Week, let us renew our commitment to Christ. May He become the greatest treasure of our lives, and may we remain faithful to Him in thought, word, and action.
